Howdy everybody I'm new to rdas/rbas I just built my second dual coil build, 7 wraps each of 28g kanthal on a omega + nemesis with a 4.7(I think) 18650 battery. It came out to ~.9 ohms, the problem I'm having is under standing all the technical aspects of coil design, I feel like I'm not getting the best performance out of my build as far as vapor out put and flavor. I know this is a very vague post but I'm really interested in building coils and want to get into the community of it so I'm looking for any tips tricks and knowledge I can get?

A micro coil has all the coils touching each other (but not overlapping). It is typically wrapped around a 5/64" or 1/16" drill bit or similar diameter mini screwdriver. I've used inflation needles (like you air a basketball with), toothpicks, 18 gauge blunt tip needles, etc. I agree with diesel, youtube is a great tool for help on building, Riptrippers has some basic coil building tutorials, and some crazy overly complicated builds that are more for showing off at the local vape shop or something. I think most stick with simple micro coils wicked with cotton for simplicity and performance. And welcome to the community, I'm new here too, but have been on this journey for over a year.

Welcome! micro is small, macro is larger. All a matter of perspective really. As far as where to go? just keep experimenting man. Youtube is your friend. There are a ton of builds out there that can point you in the right direction but the best thing to do is just play. Nothing better than hands on learning. Wrap different lengths, experiment with different size kanthol, use different wicks. The great thing about vaping is how personal it is. Its all customizable to your taste. Some like huge pluming clouds, other want to replicate the "smoking" sensation. The only way to know what you like is to try everything! And of course you found a great platform to ask any questions or find any info you could possibly need! Good luck!

Wow well that's a lot of info to take in but I guess the general rule of thumb that I've come to learn is to just test different builds out, I'll definitely check YouTube out, I'm also waiting on a patriot dripper to come in the mail. I'm not a big fan of the omega, love the giant airflow it provides but hate the tie down screw's I feel like I can never get them to got right

Welcome fellow New Hampshire-ite! (I'm way down the other end of the state)

While you won't be able to post in the RBA and Coil Builds forums until you hit 15 posts you should still be able to read them in the mean time. Lots of good info posted in there from newbie level right through advanced :)

Here they are in case you haven't found them already:
