With Ohm's Law, knowing two out of three values from the values for Voltage, Amperage (current), and Resistance you can find the third one with this symbol.

Ohm's Law for Dummies

For those who are math challenged like myself, you can use this Ohm's Law Calculator instead.

1. You need to know your battery's amp limit. (The Sony VTC4 has a 30 amp continuous limit)
List of battery amp ratings

2. You need to know your coil's overall resistance, measured with an ohm meter or digital multimeter. (0.9 ohms)

3. In the calculator, supply the "voltage" in the appropriate line. (4.2 volts - always use the value of a fully charged battery)

4. Supply the "resistance" in the appropriate line.

5. Click "calculate".

6. The "current" (amperage) will be the amps the coil will pull from the battery. This value must not be equal to or over the rated amps of the battery. (4.666 amps drawn from the battery)
