Just about ready to give up

First I would like to say thanks to all the kind and generis people making it a easy and enjoyable journey to Reoville.
With that said I am just about ready to give up on the Reo after only 5 days. I have tried 3 different wicks, Raton Cotton and silica. 28g and 30g wire. I lost track of how many new coils I wrapped, 1ohm thru 1.5ohm. Raised and lowered the coil, pulled it to the edge of the deck without toughing anything. Tried every different juice I have 5 or 6. Read all the posts and watched all the videos I could find the Reo and how to wrap a coil for it. ATM I have the same juice in my Reo and a cheap ce4 clearomizer on a 1100mah battery, getting much better flavor from the clearomizer, none from the Reo.

Sorry I can not make it any bigger.

My wife, who is still smoking Analogs said when I first started vaping, that vapping was Monkey Business. Thence the avatar. Which I made about 4 mounts ago for my ebay store. Well folks after using the Reo for 5 day I have to agree with her. :(

I am going to give it one last try, with a little help from my friends in Reoville, before I sell or trade it for a Dual 18650 Wood Box Mod.

Thanks

It's not time to give up!.
Seriously, it could me months before I started getting coils to work for me. I used to build 3 and 4 coils daily.
I would have friends build me coils till I could make them work on my own.

Then one day, I made a coil that worked great and I to this day can't see what I did different from the others, but it worked great and now I can make any
kind of coil at any ohms I wish and they work great.

Some may disagree with me but I suggest you do not start with connected coils and micro size coils.
Also, I don't suggest starting with dual coils.

Both those types of builds require a seasoned coil builder.

Just stay with you 28 gauge wire. that is the easiest gauge to use at first. It's forgiving.
Then just do single coil builds on a 2mm or even a 2.5mm nail or pocket screwdriver shaft, if you don't have a coiling device.

just use cotton yarn for wicking. Soon you will be making coils that work. try 4 or 5 wraps with 28 gauge to get about a 1 ohm coil.
space each coil wrap about the distance equal to the thickness of the wire. It really doesn't matter if the spacing is off a tad.

People here call these coils :"ugly coils" because they have a free hand look to them. these are my favorite coils. They are what we all used to make back in the day.

they are fast and easy to make. .And work great. Over time you can increase the wraps and try dual coils if you care too.

Hope this is some help. It takes time a patience.. and very worth the effort.

Well you have a single coil on dual post which is fine as long as you can adjust the cap for 1 air hole. Number 2 the coil looks way to low. It looks as though it would now line up with the air hole in the cap. You coil should be directly in front or slightly above the air hole. And directly lined up.

What Atty is that?

my first reo is enroute so i cant really comment on reo, but building i know. 1-1.5 on my mechs is to weak for me (on a 30-50watt thats a different story) depending on your battery 0.6-0.8 would be a better range and would be getting more power from your battery. at 1-1.5 ohms ur getting 11-17watts. try that same build as a dual coil (gets closer to 40watts) ur wicking looks pretty good. battery safety is a must on a mech so know ur battery.

I can feel and appreciate your frustration.

When I first started using Genesis atties, I had one heck of a time making a coil without any hotspots. After reading and watching everything I could, I was able to make a decent coil after a week of total frustration.

Don't give up just yet. Otherwise you will be missing out on one stellar vaping experience. Step back and take a breather for a bit and give it another good ole attempt.

Sorry to hear you're having problems. (Cliven, it's an RM3.) I'm sure you are doing it, but I'd just suggest that you position the air hole on the cap right exactly in front of the coil. And maybe raise the coil and wick up a little higher so that air can go under and over the coil. It looks like a good coil/wick, but raising it up off the deck a tiny bit more may make a difference.

like everyone else is saying. DON"T give up!!! I was a terrible coil builder and had no clue about air holes and what not when i first got my reos. just keep at it, and once you hit that right spot, you'll know it, and you'll love it. I personally keep my coil very very low and as far away from the posts as i can safely get it. Just keep at it!
and that's such a great looking reo!

Before you give up your reo i will suggest something little different than others ,put rm3 aside and try another atty (if thats possible at all)
I myself went thru the same trouble with rm3 i couldnt get any flavor from it at all whatever i tried and even tho im not a pro at it im no stranger either
I didnt have any bf atty at the moment so i got mad (cuz i just couldnt think my reo was at fault) and made my own out of a nimbus clone and viola that was it ....
Anyways my humble suggestion is just try another atty before you give up on your reo ....

The RM3 you have there can work great for flavour, but it's nowhere near as known and documented as the RM2.

I would suggest that you pick a RM2 up if you at all can - most all of us cut our reo rebuilding teeth on this atty and it's very forgiving. It's also a flavour machine. If you had any problems with it, there are videos, threads, and about 50 people in here who could help you get it exactly right. It's THE best platform that taught the most people in the last year to love the reo. If you're getting better flavour from a clearo, then you haven't experienced the reo yet.

Remember, also - it's not the reo, it's just a coil/atty/wick issue, so if you have a little more patience, resist the urge to throw the baby out with the bath water.

That's it in a nutshell - IT IS NOT THE REO.

I don't have a RM3, but do have 4 RM2's, plus an IGO-S and VA Cyclone that are all basically the same compact size (my others are larger). The compact atty's are all flavor magnets with the right builds set up right on them. IMO you'll be missing some great flavorful vaping if you give up on teh Reo so easily when that is not the problem. Just saying... gets some help here and give it a nother run.

jbarrick, i'm not the brightest bulb in the pack....actually i'm so dim I was rejected in quality control, but I can tell you that I have five RM2's so i know nothing about RM3's or higher, but I struggled mightily with making acceptable single coils...hell, i started out with silica and hand-wrapped coils. It didn't take long at all to get the hang of it, especially watching some videos on them. Now I make micro coils with cotton roll in a split second...well maybe a little longer, but I never dreamed I'd be able to do this.

Don't get rid of the Reo!!!!!! Practice and pretty soon you'll realize that you're pretty darn good at making coil-wick setups! But I believe that I noticed that your coil was a bit too loow and that you might have a bit too much cotton in there.
Not to worry, you'll have the hang of it quickly:)

If I can do it...ANYONE can!

Did you try 510 or 306 atomizers ? No coil building, no wicking and good taste. Feed by either squonking or dripping. Before I got rm2/odin, my Reo saw nothing but Bridgeless306 atomizers for 2 years (bridgeless essentially means "without wick"). Here in Germany, I always use the "306 bridgeless supreme" from vape4me.de. I also heard good things about the Cisco 306, but never tried it myself.
Don't give up on the Reo. Bottom feeding is a reverse form of dripping, which (with a good atomizer) should give you superior taste to other forms of vaping. Maybe, a standardized 306 atomizer with 1.5/1.8 ohm gives you the vape experience, you are looking for.

How can you sell or trade items that were given to you in good faith? Would you not return them to their original owners with a big THANKYOU for helping you out?

Seems to be a bit of monkey business going on around here too.

Ordered a Hann Mod DNA 30, 9.11.14 from the group buy and have not received a shipping notice 9.13.14

Got my DNA 30 from group buy yesterday, looks great and works as advertised. Recommend buy!

Nagma is my fav.

How is the Magma and Hana Mods going? You know you can swap atties between the Hana and the Reo to test your builds?

Yeah... hmmm... I haven't been around alot lately, but after a quick review of the situation (post history), I agree.

Seems pretty brazen of the OP:

1.) Playing the sympathy card
2.) Receiving free Reo setup from people so giving that they can be (at times) taken advantage of
3.) Buying a Hana setup with the money that could of bought the Reo setup in the first place
4.) Trading free Reo setup for a dual 18650 wood mod setup???
5.) But not without coming back to Reoville and brazenly rubbing it in people's faces?

That's what the quick re-cap is looking like to me. Am I wrong? I could be off of my horse... if so I am sorry.
