Hey guys,

I've been an analog smoker for almost 20 years, so it's been such a relief to discover vaping. The transition was almost too easy. I have no analog cravings now, and even the smell of cigarette smoke is now repulsive to me.

I decided to try vaping when I found out that even the UK's National Health Service considers vaping 95 percent less harmful than cigarettes. I have a 2 year old and I want to be around to see him grow up, so this really put my mind at ease.

Thanks for reading!

Welcome @FrankRice

Yes.... it took a long time but the NHS finally admitted e-cigs were a good idea.

The figure 95% is kind of hard to explain away... e-cigs are probably not totally safe and we don't really know for sure what sort of e-cigs they are talking about.
What is sad is that nearly half the population (44.8%) don’t realise e-cigarettes are much less harmful than smoking. This means people will carry on smoking.
Thanks to the Daily Mail and other sensationalist media, e-cigs were portrayed (and still are, to a certain extent) as the unknown threat to health. This in turn has been partly responsible for the European Ruling which now threatens e-cigs and hands control of them back to the tobacco companies in May of 2016. What happens then, we don't know.

Sadly, the news was too late and without a miracle, expect to see them gradually disappear (as we know them) over the next few years. The government doesn't care...

I don't know what you are using, but the products I use will be gone in 6 months.

Well done on quitting. To do it when your child is 2 is a really great bit of news. Much respect. :)

And I will definitely be asking you guys for your help, particularly concerning DIY liquid stuff, in the appropriate section of the forum.
For all things DIY head on over to the DIY ELiquid Forum. Lots of great info in all the "stickies". Below is the information I often give to members new to DIY.
  • Dannyv45's blogs will give insight into all aspects of DYI, from steeping to what supplies to have on hand to a basic walk through mixing your first E-juice. => dannyv45 - Blogs
  • Hoosier's blogs concentrate on fine tuning your mix and give insight on additives. =>Hoosier - Blogs
  • For a juice mixing calculator consider using eJuiceMeUp
Here are some threads you may like to read through for different flavoring companies. Many of the posts include recipes and comments about a specific flavor.
