People may have noticed I like messing with my batteries. Thought I'd share what I've done to make them perfect IMO. I love the shorty autos but they all seem to have too light a draw for my taste. My manual seemed to heat the atomizer a bit better, better vapor, but also too "airy". So in the end I took some some silicone gasket maker(good to 400 degrees) and filled one hole in the auto. Better, but what happens if I fill 2? After further review, 2 filled holes is exactly what I was looking for. The draw is almost identical to a well packed analog. The vapor is warmer(I'm assuming the restricted airflow keeps things from cooling as much). Vapor production is equal to my manual. Basically, it's perfect for me. I keep my manual as a back up, but my remaining autos(the ones that lived thru my extended alcohol bath and drill bit work) are amazing to me. Maybe the extra heat will kill a cart quicker. Big deal. I have plenty and they don't cost that much. A perfect draw, perfect size, and feel are worth the trade off to me. But now does this mean maybe a 5v is in my future to get the higher heat? We'll see. (Toothpicks are a simpler solution for the holes I understand. I just didn't have any. LOL)

There's no video in my future, I don't have the equipment. And I definitely don't have the on camera personality. But the gasket maker can be found at any auto parts store. I use permatex #1 form-a-gasket sealant. Just a little dab on the end of a pencil, smear it on the hole and let it dry. Then clean any off the threads with a needle. The only thing I've noticed is if you clean the threads on your batts with rubbing alcohol and a toothbrush, this sealant doesn't withstand the alcohol. But it works well and if it makes the draw too hard for you, you can easily open the hole a bit with a pin or remove it completely with said rubbing alcohol.

Any auto parts store would have it. Loctite Gasket Maker. Husband used the RTV Red. Note the label does say that it will emit a gas during curing that is a respiratory irritant, but it finishes curing in 24 hours. He applied it with a toothpick to two of the holes and wiped it down with a napkin to make sure none was on the threads or the area where the carto seats.

Honestly Gribeau, I just never got around to it. Part of me was ready to get out the JB Weld and go to town, the slightly more rational part realized I like changing things alot. For me, the 5 minutes it takes me to redo these things after a good cleaning is an acceptable trade off to keep me from getting upset when I decide I want a real light draw for some reason. Although the permanent epoxy sealing idea has been gaining alot of ground.

Does someone have a perverse obsession with JB Weld?

Someone is lazy and was really disappointed hearing that it would have to be fixed over and over after cleaning...lol. Plus the whole 24 hour down time for curing...

*wanders of thinking about what else can be created with JB Weld*

Would an adapter be acceptable? I'm thinking that a small adapter between the battery or PV and the cartomizer could be easily and expeditiously mass produced.

This adapter could be
a) made to be adjustable, by turning the small ring around it to cover
either one or two holes holes, or none, it would come with 3 holes.
If you need 4, then you simply don't need the adapter; or
b) it could be sold in pairs, with one having only one small hole, and
the other having two; these are not adjustable, they would be easier
to mass produce, and very inexpensive.

A effortless pull is actually wonderful to me, but an adapter such as the one I propose would possibly help so many different preferences, as
well as allow everyone more flexibility to fine tune the desired draw strength to each individual cartomizer.
