I'm thinking about pulling my banner folks. Nearly 8 months since I quit cigs, and bought a pack the other day. I can't figure out the trigger yet...something must be up my ..... Can't say I'm craving them yet, and hope like h*ll I don't. 2 cigs a day for a week now...I'm really disappointed in myself. Maybe it's all the stress in my life right now. What do you think...should I pull my banner???? Can't talk to my wife/friends/customers...they all are so proud of me for quitting. Crap...what to do, what to do?

Just thought I'd vent a little.

Do you still want to be an ex-smoker? To me, if you still have the intention to not smoke, keep your banner, because that's when you decided to go down this path. We're not AA, you don't have to turn in your chip and start over. So you slipped up, if you want to vape and not smoke, try to figure out what made you stumble, and move forward.

I wish you luck, whatever you choose.

On the one slip up I had, i just couldn't count that as a day without smoking. So mine shows the day after that slip up. Like the others say it happens. Though I haven't had a cig myself since september. I have been tempted a few times but I don't want to go back to that.

just did some numbers on breathing... an avg ciggie supplies about 15 puffs, the avg respiration is 18 breaths per minute...
18 breaths X 60 minutes X 24 hours = 25920 breaths per day.. 2 ciggies results in 30 puffs
30/25920 = .00115
.00115 X 100 = .115% of the total air for the day that contained ciggie smoke

That banner isn't for us, it's for you. It's been a very long time since I've actually noticed anyone's banner. I tend to look at join dates, if anything. So, I'd say if thebanner makes you experience guilt, reset it or dump it all together. If not, keep it as is and move on. Trust me, nobody is going to spend their weekend thinking "nvadsz smoked! That banner is a LIE!!!"

So you avoided 6820 instead of 6841 (when I looked just now lol). That really isnt a big difference. If you have been of them for this long, your are fine I reckon. I would just put whatever remains of the pack you have in a drawer somewhere and get out the vape gear and blow some clouds (or whatever style you like!!). Maybe get on the computer and buy yourself a new mod or tank or something top get the e-juices flowing again!! Whatever you do, hang in there and dont give up now!! you did the hard bit already. thios is just a glitch....

...and dont pull that banner! you worked hard for those 6820 unsmoked stinkies!!!!!!!!!

Vent all you want for we are your support system. We are here for you just like your here for us. So what if you smoked a couple. Its up to you if you want to go back to that life or go back to just vaping or doing both. Either way we wont judge you if you smoked a couple. I have a strong feeling that you are being way harder on yourself than any of us ever will be. Ease up on yourself, grab your vape, sit back and relax with us. Your among friends.

2 cigs a day doesn't sound like anything to be bothered about.

@Asbestos4004 made some really good points. Keep the banner if it helps, even a pack is way smaller than all the cigs you have avoided.

Maybe get a new mod / try something new like dripping (Which may not be new to you at all) / get some new juices that peak your interest?

Have a mod with slightly stronger nic sitting around for bad weeks?

I know you don't know me at all and none of this may help, but just as someone who has stopped and started a lot over the years... Don't beat yourself up, its damn hard. you haven't undone all the progress you made, just a speed bump.

I don't understand it either, but it definitely varies from person to person. I was lucky, I haven't had or wanted a cig since the day I found my first vape kit in the mailbox. My GF, on the other hand, was vaping and smoking for months until she had oral surgery a month ago and quit the cigs completely during recovery.

Good luck to you, stay strong!

I stopped smoking 8 months ago too and have thoughts about having a smoke more than usual lately. After a quit attempt (that held for 10 years) I noticed for the first year I would be in situations that only come up once a year and would tug on me for a smoke so don't be surprised when it happens. May be you had a triggering event that only happens once a year.

Two cigarettes are better than 20 but you can probably exorcise those two. When you try may be buy some vaping hardware that day to spur you on. That's what I did the day I started zero cigs. Presents work.

As everyone else said, don't beat yourself up over it. To be honest I had one and a half a few days ago after not having one for probably like 3 months or so now.

I partially blame the fact that I've been using low nicotine juice right now and i had a couple of beers at a friends house (without my vape gear too BTW) and he was smoking so the smell and the lack of even having my vape caused me to relapse.
