Ok after ALL this waiting and indecisiveness, I finally just went ahead and bought the Firefly Carto Deluxe kit from Liberty Flights. Their stock on everything was running low which made my decision that much harder, and I looked to alternative sites, but in the end, I thought the Firefly seemed pretty cool and I'm a sucker for gimmicky LEDs and stuff so... yea. I'm just gonna be happy about it.

So included with the kit is (5) smok 510 XL Dual Coil cartomizers at 1.5ohm. Yea, I have no idea what that means. All I know from what I read is LR means warmer vapor with a strong throat hit and that it runs out your battery faster and HR is a cool vape that produces more flavor but less throat hit. But what does it mean if it is dual coil and what does the XL mean? Is it just larger or does it hold more liquid? I also got some Boge 2.7ohm cartos because I would like to try a cooler vape and see which one I like better.

I bought 6 5ml bottles of 11mg/16mg juice because the 4 bottles of 24mg nicotine I had from before is way too strong for me. I can only take a hit or two before I start to feel weird and dizzy, so I decided to get some new juice with less nicotine so I can vape more without feeling like I'm about to overdose on nicotine. Do certain flavors taste better on LR atty/cartos or HR ones? Which one would I want to use as an all day vape (I presume thats just a comfortable flavor you don't mind using the majority of the time)? I also have some 808D cartos from my last e-cig, I bought a 510 to 901/808D adapter so I can use them. How different will those vape in comparison to the LR and HR cartos?

I got honeydew, cherry blossom, irish mintz, mojito, candy apple, and kona cream from Madvapes. I'm mostly a menthol smoker, so I think my all day vape will probably be something minty. I suppose if I like menthols that prob means I'll like more of a throat hit as well? I'm just trying to get off analogs... luckily I'm a pretty light smoker unless I've been drinking.

Sounds like you got a right nice setup! The XL means "extra long" and yeah, they hold a bit more juice. Those Boge 2.7 ohm cartos are actually SR - standard resistance (I think, though I usually think of "SR" as being 3.0, but that's just me). Anyway they should serve your purpose nicely I think. I believe you *will* find you prefer some flavors/mixtures suit you better at different resistance ratings. For this (and other) reason(s) I would strongly suggest you purchase one each of a LR and a SR dripping atomizer and one or two drip tips. I personally prefer a high quality 306 over a 510; they have the same thread pattern and either will work in your battery, but this is a matter of personal preference. Good ones aren't cheap but they're designed to hold up well if they're used properly, and they're perfect for trying out different juices without filling up cartos with something you might not care for. I love IkenVape's io6 models but they've been out; I hope to try the Cisco brand next month when my ship comes in... they get great reviews as well. The quality level I've been using run from $8 - $10 each and I've gotten almost 3 months use from the ones I'm using now. Tried a couple of cheaper ones ($6 range) and they didn't last half as long.

There are many other things you can try on your setup & everyone's taste is different, so be patient with yourself & read all the reviews you can. Good luck & Happy Vaping! :vapor:

The only thing that I really take into consideration when using cartos is the PG/VG ratio. For cartos I like 80 pg 20 vg. VG is very thick and can be a bit difficult to vape in a carto - it can work just doesn't seem to lend itself to saturate and deeply and can prevent proper wicking. I use atomizers for my heavier VG juices and PG/VG for cartos.

Congrats on the new set up! Re: juices finding out which are better w/ which voltage and hardware is 1/2 the fun. Experiment and try different configurations till you've found your "all day vape."

Thanks all. I was having a REALLY tough time deciding between buying the regular kit with the atomizer/cart combo or the cartomizers. I had an e-cig a while back and used atomizers and because I didn't know what I was doing, I don't think I got the best use out of them. Because of that, I switched to cartomizers and have been happy with them. BUT you're right, I don't really want to fill up an entire cart when I don't even know what the liquids taste like. Now that I think about it, since I already ordered some SR cartos, I should have gone with the atomizer/cart combo so I would have both. But apparently the cartos kits come with a different type of cone specially made for cartos? I don't know how much different they are or how they would feel on a regular cone.

So if I were to pick up some attys and carts, what should I get? The whole eGo and 510 thing still confuses me a little. eGo's are basically 510's but with the bigger battery style? And 510 just refers to anything that has that type of threading? If I bought atty's, should I be looking for 510 styles or eGo styles? I just know the atty/cart combo is a bit more expensive than a 5 pack of cartos.

ALSO, I found some videos/instructions on how to turn an carto into an atty, by opening it up and removing the filter/sock in the carto and then using a drip tip to drip directly into it. Will that give similar-ish results or not really? Or should I even remove the filter?
