Just bought a GG Slim from BrooklynGuy1 (in classifieds) but I hastily did a stupid thing... I paypal'd him the money as a "gift"...

ug, I hope this won't be a problem..
Has anyone here made this mistake before? Or am I the only one?

Paypal gift is fine if the seller has a good reputation in the classifieds, people have been ripped off though and when using the "gift" method of payment be aware you have no protection from paypal at all

I don't use "Gift" and ask the other party to do the same; it's just sound business. Only use gift when you want to give $$ to someone. Nothing against anyone at all but stuff happens.

Nothing wrong with gift pmts to trusted members. Not to n00bs though, even though we were all n00bs at one time you have to eliminate risk somehow. You can always ask the buyer to pay the pp fees for trust all round

Just to clarify: I wasn't saying that gifting was good one way or the other, only explaining that this is one reason people use it. I wouldn't use it on expensive items unless I trusted the person.
