Hi krisco and congrats on day 2 of your vaping journey. As has been said, you can do this and remain tobacco free. Lots of us are doing it. ECF has been a great place for me to get information, knowledge, experience and support from other vapers. Glad you joined our community and hope that vaping works a a sufficient substitute for analogs. vaping provides so many options so you can customize your vape experience. I've stuck with my original equipment (eGot upgraded batteries, Kanger MT3S clearos) and have been trying a variety of flavors. I have tried to quit smoking many times and switching to vaping has been fantastic. I hope you find what works for you.

Smoker for 10 years and wanted to make the transition. Saw others doing it and decided to give it a try.

Not smoking is easy when I am sober and around my wife and kids but when I start drinking is when I become weak. So this is my attempt to get away from it.

Showed and explained to the wife everything(who hates me smoking) and she says its just another ploy that I will fail and I will still turn to smoking. I am hoping to prove her wrong.

I bought a eGO starter kit from a local smoke shop and right now I am on 4.4v on the battery with a vanilla caramel liquid. So far so good but time will tell how it goes.

Anyways, HELLO!

Congratulations and good for you! I am sure that your wife will come around in time .. it is not unusual for those who are not familiar with e cigs to be a bit pessimistic about them. As long as you have a good juice delivery system (carto, clearo), the proper nicotine strength, and a reliable battery, I see no reason why you will not be successful in your endeavor to quit smoking.

The good news is that there is a plethora of information, and community support here at ECF, and even without knowing you, we are all rooting for you .. Truth :).

Be mentally prepared for the fact that at times your gear may act a little funky, you may have e juice that you really can't stand, etc ... This is a journey of trial and error when it comes to selecting the right combination of gear and juice. Some things may seem to work at first, and then two weeks later you begin to feel like its not satisfying anymore, and this is all very normal.

If ever find yourself having "one of those days" and ready to quit, just log onto ECF and rant about it. ;-)

Hey krisco!
Seems like a whack of us all got off the same bus. :)
I came off of a 30 year habit mid-day with an eGo starter kit and some good juice. Haven't looked back.
For the first month it's gotta be about a good flavour and mouthful of vapour, otherwise you'll be back at the smoking for that feeling that you know and love. Worry about the upgrades after a month or so when you can feel the cash that you've saved weighing down your pocket.

I did the taste-test of a regular cigarette about three weeks in and you really get a feel for what your missus has been griping about these past years. ;) Not saying I'll never have the rare cigar again, but really have no use for the smokes anymore. You get the nic, the weight of the vapour in your mouth, and something to do with your hands... What else was there to your smoking habit?

As far as the drinking & smoking goes, there's no change. I don't use the ecig in the bar unless it's near empty (I know the staff and they don't object), but if it's busy I'll grab a quick puff in the gents or, if it's not p!ssing rain, I'll step out with my friends when they grab a smoke. You just don't have that 5-minute commitment when you go out anymore.

My missus was tickled when I switched, so I can puff inside at home and I like to try and figure out which flavour combinations work best with my wine or whiskey. Also, I've noticed my hangovers are a bit less painful as I haven't been strangling my brain all night with a pack 'n a half of ciggies.

Be patient with yourself and the nay-saying wife, and by Easter you'll still be vaping and she'll be buying you juice or accessories as a present.

All the best, man!

Hi Kriscoe! Good luck to you in your journey. I am an over 30 yr. smoker. I got an ego c-twist with a kanger t3s for Christmas. I didn't even know I was going to quit, but after finishing the pack that was open, I have not smoked an analog since. I posted today on this board for the first time and was overwhelmed by the well wishers and instant support. You have friends here. The stories are all amazing. And even after only 1 week, the fun Ive had watching videos, searching for that perfect juice, reading all I can, and window shopping upgrades... I can't tell you how much fun this can be. Jump in and breathe the air!!

Man let me tell you! Drinking and vaping together are pretty great, especially once you get a good tank and a good flavor. Some flavors, i swear it's like they were meant to go well with alcohol. As far as quitting, you can absolutely do it! Keep it up man, you got this!

Whats your favorite flavor to drink with?

Find a vendor that sells sampler packs of flavors or a B and M that will let you try flavors. Try as much as possible and find those Perfect flavors. Equipment changes everything. I started a week ago on am ego spinner with an iclear 16. Few days later I bought an itaste SVD. I like the SVD as I can really fine tune the voltage with it. Youll find different drinks make different vapes taste much better. I vape melon champagne by perfected vapes and drink a flavored water Thats citrus flavored. Combo is delicious

If I am having a drink I will generally up my nic level from 12 to 18 mg or at least have a small tank of 18 handy from when I really want a hit.

Usually, I just vape a ton! It's kind of nice, I can taste the liquor better as well. And if you mix a good eliquid with a good drink..it's just out of this world to me.

Whats your favorite flavor to drink with?

It's hard to narrow it down to just one flavor honestly, it's according to what you're drinking. I like jack and coke, or a nice rum so i pair that with Deadly Sin by Good Life Vapor. If i am drinking beer, then the skies the limit honestly. It's all subjective ofc.
