So after completely loosing faith in my local B&M I set out to find a new place to spend my hard earned money. I visited a shop about 30 min away and I'm very impressed. I talked to the guys there for a good half an hour. They were more than happy to help me out and steer me right.

Browsing the showcases full of mods and rebuildables, I was a bit shocked at the prices. Everything was high-end and priced way over what I wanted to spend on a first RDA. After talking to the guys and explaining what I wanted, I asked if they had an Igo that was recommended from a previous thread. He pulled out an Igo-w4. It was perfect for me to start with, good price and has the option for dual coils in the future. I was very impressed they didn't try to push a high priced unit as a starter.
They showed me how to build the coil and a few other things. They even offered to build me a coil but I passed. I figure if I want to use a dripper, I better know how to build it.

After I got home and watched a few YouTube videos, I built my first micro coil. It was a bit high at 2.5 ohms, so I tried again with less wraps and got to 1.4 ohms. After some cotton and a few drops of some cheap ... peach juice I took a vape. I was blown away at how good even the cheap juice was! It was way better than out of the PT3. I think I'm done with the clearos for good. Now it's time to find a nice mech mod. I'm just happy to have success on my first build.

HOLY COW!!! Your title scared me!!!

I thought you were literally blown away and typing with your nose

(I have a fear of new vapors trying subohm coil with the wrong batteries)

But congrats on your first build!

Congrats on your "holy cow" moment. I had mine a while back, an Igo-L with a 1.2 1.3 ohm coil, cotton of course, 1/16 airhole, i havent vaped on anything else since, hell this is my first time on ecf for about 3 months lol. I'm thinking of getting another dripper as the Igo-L fits very loose on my provari and doesnt fit on my ehpro ea clone.

I have been building both RDA, and RBAs for awhile. I find some builds are harder to do than others, but I still keep trying.

I am fond of them, but lately I have been using the new Iclear 30s. Not sure why but I am enjoying the vape from them, and they are not to expensive. I also notice they do not darken my liquid the way the home builds do. I could be doing something wrong on those which is causing it too.

Don't throw the PT out just yet. I have 3 RDAs and 2 RBAs, and I still run a protank daily. On my nemmy clone. At ~1ohm. The thing is, you need a mech or PV with good airflow to the 510, or at least drill out the holes in the protank base. Works like a champ. Great flavor:vapor ratio.
