I had the same problem as you before. I loved vaping and it curbed most of my cravings for analogs. But I just couldn't kick the cig in the morning and after a meal. I felt like I needed something that hits a bit harder than a vape.

I then decided to get an eroll (cig a like) and load it with a high nicotine juice (24mg-36mg) to kill those particular cravings. Now I use my eroll for those times I used to crave a cig and vape my Regulated mod all the other times. So far so good!

Craving is something that most of us still have. Determination and will power is the essential to quit smoking cigarette. As most members did suggest to have higher dose of nicotine. 12mg should be sufficient but you will need to vape longer compare to higher nicotine dosage. Doing exercise making you sweat do help the craving. I remember someone told me to eat carrot too which I didn't try yet. Good luck.

Most of us will have *thoughts* of smoking... very VERY different from "cravings". When I first quit, back in Feb/Mar '14, yeah I thought of cigarettes... sometimes quite fondly. But I vaped thru it, and it was never very difficult. 2nd time, after my appendectomy and smoking relapse, when I finally quit again... COMPLETELY different story. Trust me, there is a WORLD of difference between a thought that can be vaped away and forgotten, and cravings that will not leave you alone, no matter how much you vape.

I am the lucky one which you people described WHO converts to vaping after first inhale. On the other hand I am mesmerized you adopt the idea "I will not use the tobacco flavors and use fruit juices in order not to remind smoking." If getting a bath with fruit juice in one hand could make you quit cigarettes we would not need vaping devices. You are in the need to quit tobacco so you have to begin with tobacco flavours. Again you will choose higher nic levels you can always dilute if it is higher than you need. Some people wanders how some others quit smoking with only one inhale from a primitive device I wander myself how others cant.

In the beginning, most of us started with absolutely willing to get as close as possible to the taste of real cigs. After more than one year of vaping only, I can only try tobacco flavors when they're paired with a fruit or something else, and even then they're never my favorite vapes. Change comes with time, as for quitting smoking completely, yourself only will know when it's the right time. But to up a little your nicotine level is far from a bad idea anyways !

I agree, I needed something as close as I could possibly get to the taste of my cigarettes, or it would never have worked for me -- I had to fool my habit into thinking it was getting what it wanted -- and it worked really well; considering that I smoked ultra-lights for the last 20 yrs I smoked, even the TH was better with vaping!

Now I can't stand that Virginia flavor; I can only tolerate tobacco flavors if they're the sweet, pipe-tobacco kind -- which I completely turned up my nose at, when I first started.

But it took a month for me to totally switch, both times. I had to make it as zero-pressure as I could possibly make it -- no commitments (at first), no promises, just "trying it out," playing my tally-sheet game and "how many cigarettes can I substitute vaping for" -- when I saw how many I could do with zero pressure, zero commitment, then I tried a bit harder... and they just kinda went away. Both times. It was only that the 2nd time, after the relapse, when I had been quit for 10 days (very happily!), those horrible cravings hit me, and I had to resort to WTA -- which worked terrifically.

I have vaped Peach Rings, Razzle Dazzle, Apple Rings, Mango, TNT, Monster Melons, Grape, Banana, Unicorn Milk (disgusting), Heathen, and a few other ones I can't seem to remember at the moment. Most of which were good in taste but I always find myself still craving a cigarette. I want to quit because I hate smelling like an ashtray. I vape 12mg nic. Is it the throat hit? The tobacco taste? Would a tobacco e juice still have me smelling like an ashtray?

I see you are vaping 12mg so you may want to try to see if 18 helps, but I also wanted to mention something else. The mental part of addiction is a very hard thing to overcome, so maybe for right now don't even think of quitting, just enjoy vaping. Take things hour by hour if you must. If the urge to smoke hits you, say to yourself, "self (haha), I can have a cig if I want to but first I am going to try to vape through this craving and see if it does the trick. If I still really feel the need for a cig I can have one." This is what I did in the beginning because as soon as I thought about not being able to light up I got anxiety ridden much stronger. You can beat this!!!! Let your addicted mind know you are in charge!!! That you recognize that it is there but that you want to try something new. Those strong urges will lessen in no time and before you know it even the smell of a freshly lit smoke will not swade you. Remember also that lighting a smoke is an immediate surge of nicotine where as you will have to vape for a few minutes to reach that same content. I know at first I was a chain vaper but now if I forget my vape at home its no big deal and I know it will be there when I return. When I was smoking if I forgot my cigs I wouldn't be able to drive, hahaha. Don't be hard on yourself!!!! Addiction is a hard thing to overcome. Ooooo one more thing, the more water you drink the better. It helps with vaping and also flushes the crap from your system. Good luck and remember there is a team of folks here that will help you through tough times.

Very similar method here, when I was first trying out e-cigs. When I'd feel the urge to go out and smoke, I'd say to myself, ok, I'll just vape for now, and later I can go have a cigarette. By postponing smoking, I was able to train my habit to accept something else, and the something else gradually just took over. I never could have done the "quit right now" thing, I also would have felt so completely stressed about it, I'd have run right out to smoke! When I first got here to try and find a good cigalike, and saw how many folks had actually quit, I even asked, do I have to give up the cigarettes first? And everyone said NO! you don't have to do anything that makes you uncomfortable -- and that was all I needed to hear.

PS. I'm down to a few puffs of a cigarette a day. Great seeing as I used to smoke every hour.

Considering this thread is 2 months old and is titled with "just can't quit," I would concur that it is great. Methinks in 2 more months you'll look back on this thread as if it were 5 years old given your new outlook.

In my first year, I cut way back, but had times where I'd binge smoke. As has already been said in this thread, when trying to quit, it's not about how many are you still smoking, but how many you are not. Imagine telling your pack a day self say 6 months ago that you'll be down to just a few puffs a day in less than a year? You know that self would think you are crazy and speaking of the impossible. Yet, here you are living that.

I say be very happy / proud with how far you've come and realize that in time, quitting will seem very easy, if that is what you truly desire. Be patient with yourself. You certainly have made great strides.

I was luckily hand Rolling. So I did not have any brand calling. So when I inhaled my first try I thought now that there is this device why should I smoke? I did not intend to quit at first but there was no need for cigarettes. Perhaps the magic is never intend to quit. Try to do both. At last the good wins and you quit cigarettes. Mind you, the matter is quitting cigarettes not nicotine we are addicted to. I loved smoking but now I like vaping.

Gotta try some off these new methods cause I was down to a few puffs now im smoking a few a day again. Very disappointed. I have an Evod with VV and rebuilt coil with cotton also have evod 2 and protank 2. Don't use those cause I love my evod but I get bored of vaping it all day. I vaped 18mg for a while then it wasn't enough but im headed down the wrong road here people! I DO NOT want to hit 24. What's next? Drinking the bottle? (Kidding) but you get what I mean. I think it might be the way I rebuild my coil at the moment seeing as I spend more time rebuilding my coil than actually vaping. I have 28g wire and im aiming for 1.5 - 2.0 ohms but it doesn't fit if I make 9-12 wraps. If I have 8 wraps I get 1.2 which is idk not what I want I guess. Help?

If I had to build my coils right now I'd probably go back to smoking too. I have a few juices in 24 mg strength, and various tobacco flavors (halo sample pack) and menthols, and other flavors. In fact I think I'll try one of the tobaccos later after I vape this tank of a juice I bought way too much of. Just hang in there, don't build coils if you don't want to, they aren't that expensive to buy factory coils. Good luck!!!!!

I'd try a different gauge wire. If using 30ga around a 2mm rod, I get about 1.6 ohms from 8 wraps. I usually try to keep my coils at 8 wraps.

I think you definitely need to try a tobacco flavour, when I started 3 years ago I wouldn't even consider fruit, or anything else other than tobacco. I vaped that for almost 6 months, only then was I able to try other flavours and now I can't even touch the tobacco flavours. goodluck :)

Yeah, a tobacco flavor could be helpful, and perhaps WTA -- if 18mg nicotine just isn't quite getting the job done, it may be that your physical dependence on the other tobacco alkaloids is equal to or greater than your dependence on nicotine. I personally can't vape over 10mg nicotine or it makes me sick, but I still had dreadful cravings, no matter how much I vaped -- WTA absolutely removed them.

I'd recommend the 24mg unflavored from wholecig.com, for an excellent compromise between purity and price -- it's a good bit cheaper than the unflavored WTA (the VS or VSS or whatever it is) at aroma, but just as clear and without taste/smell. I got excellent results adding the 24mg WTA as 10% of my ejuice, though some have gone higher, 15% or more; someone told me they vaped the 24mg WTA straight! It might give you more of what you need to stay free of burning tobacco. :thumb: It's more costly than regular nicotine or ejuice, but using it as 10% of your vape, it lasts a while.

it does seem everybody's experience is unique to them for me I think I just told myself vaping was a temporary situation until I could get back to my smoking ( was visiting ill mother) so I vaped and smoked for about six weeks but the last week or so I could hardly stand the cigs and really could hardly smoke a whole one I also upped my nic from 12 to 18 I didn't have this forum then I still tell myself if I wanted one bad enough I would but it has been three months today and I rarely even think about it and if I do it is usually because I have been chain vaping on an almost empty tank with 12 mg nic and not doing the nice long gentle vape for me it seems I require a specific nic level

My suggestion is to go with a tobacco e-juice. My husband runs a vape shop and when we run across a person that is having a tough time putting down the stogies we usually try this first and they seem to be more successful in quitting or drastically reducing the number of smokes daily/weekly. Also make sure you are getting your juice from a reputable company because if you get cheap or bad juice you will still crave a cigarette because the nicotine can expire or go bad. Oh, vaping a tobacco e-liquid does not make you stinky;)
