Don't have the required posts to send a PM yet, unfortunately. I saw a post through a google search looking for replacement bases for my Kanger Protank. There's a member that mentioned being able to fix these bases so I signed up to send a message but can't do it yet. So here I am, hopefully a mod can give me the required privileges to send a message...

Anyway hey everybody! I've been vaping and smoke free since Dec 21 2012... Started on an ego and clearo, broke a bunch of ego batteries and sprang for a Provari. I love it, but these kanger protanks are very sensitive at the 510 threading and after breaking three of the threads, and shattering another glass, I'm about wore out. I really like the protanks, and since I haven't found anything better yet I'm struggling to find new bases in stock anywhere. I'm keeping my eyes on discountvapers and sun-vapers waiting for stock replenishment, if anybody knows of alternatives though I'd appreciate it.

Welcome to ECF! Also, I have seen the Protank bases here -

Kanger ProTank Base

I think they put up a limited amount every few days. They are in stock right now, I just checked. $1.89 is probably cheaper than repair! Good luck!

Thanks a bunch, just ordered 10. Just hope the order goes through.

Before anybody says 10 is greedy, I've broken three in less than 3 weeks.

I use a Kanger Protank as well. Never had any breakage/issues in going on a month. What in the world is happening that is breaking threads and the tank?

Here's a picture of the breakage. It's happening with very short falls, twice from my 2ft tall couch onto my rug while attached to the Provari. I've tried to be careful but things happen, need to free up a hand so I put it down for a second, forget about it, then move or get up and it falls. The point where the thread attaches to the flat bottom is very thin, less than 1mm thick, and probably the most fragile part of the entire unit. Based on my experience (2 of the gift box version, 2 cardboard box), any fall from any distance puts the connection at risk. You can google even within this forum and find a multitude of people who've experienced this same issue, thus why the few places that carry replacement bases can't keep them in stock very long. I did already get a tracking number from free-cigs, remarkably fast, so it looks like I should be all set for a while.

forgot to mention, the one glass tank I broke was a very legitimate fall, I had the mod in my lap while sitting in the car, got up to check my mail and it fell to the concrete. Surprisingly enough the base survived that fall, so I got to reuse the part. Come to think of it, being that that one also ended up breaking later I'm on my fifth base now, not my fourth... Yes obviously I need to be more careful but these bases are crap!

I've had my protank for 3 months, here are some tips on how not to break it....

1. Don't use as a hammer.....
2. Don't use to cut the grass with.....
3. Don't throw at significant other.....
4. Don't use to help change a flat tire.....
I'm sure there more here somewhere, anyways

How to protect your protank....

1. Bubble wrap it.....
2. Incase in styrofoam......
3. Layer with duct tape.....

Maybe I should make a video?

Hope I was helpful, and at least gave someone a smile.

Glad u found replacements OP, Vape On!

I know we are talking about the Pro Tank bases here, but I can't find a thread about the Tatroe tanks. I've got one, and the central air tube seems to be too long. It presses down too hard on the silicone gasket on the Pro Tank head and cuts off the juice flow even after removing a wick. I've tried loosening the base a turn, and even notching the gasket, but I can only get 1 or 2 hits before the wick/coil is dry. Any ideas, or directions to a Tatroe specific thread?
