Yup, the old resistance and add 2 is a great way to get a starting point to experiment from. With a clearo, I usually start a little lower than that number. So if its 1.8 ohms + 2 = 3.8, I would set around 3.5. I've found cartos are much more flexible and the maximum on them is significantly higher.

So, I pick a starting point, vape it and if it's not burnt I increase slowly until I get a bit of burnt hit happening. Then back down a bit. That will be the max you can go with that device and that juice. Pick the best setting below that and you are good to go. As the coil gets gunked up the maximum will go down.

I use a Kangar Protank 2. :)

I am no longer using those, but it seems like to me they have a maximum recommended wattage of like 6.5 or 7 Watts. Hopefully someone who knows the number for sure can chime in. If the high limit is 7 Watts, you better keep it to 3.5 Volts.

3.6 Volts = (3.6x3.6)/1.8 = 7.2 Watts
3.5 Volts = (3.5x3.5)/1.8 = 6.8 Watts

I just got an ego-c twist and I was wontering whats the best setting with1.8 ohms? Or is there a calculator or calculation? Thanks.

I have a Smoov REV and a Mini ProTank 2. Mine goes from 3.3V- 4.8V, and I buy 1.8 and 2.2 ohm coils. For 1.8, I keep it around 3.3 to 3.6 depending on how much of a throat hit I want, and around 3.4-3.8 on my 2.2.

Hope it helps
