Hey guys, just got some fraudulent chargers on my CC and im thinking its related to an e-cig vendor.

Im pretty sure its connected as prior to this i never really ordered anything online, and the one week i do i suddenly get fraudalent charges. Now i have to wait for my card to be replaced am im down some much needed money.

As a newbie to vaping this has really left a sour taste in my mouth so to speak, and i would like to know REPUTABLE sources to get parts and juice from.

I only use my Blue Bird reloadable card for internet purchases. It's the best card for this imo. There are no fees for reload or for using it. You keep what you need on it and no more. I don't think a credit card should ever be used for online shopping whether it be for ecigs or anything. The world is full of too many crooks.
I've been very happy with three vendors so far.
Mt Baker Vapor
101vape
Hoosiervapes.
Really sorry to hear that happened to you. I really hate crooks:-x
Who was this vendor that ripped you off? Actually I'm not sure if giving that info is allowed on ecf but we should know so that others don't get cheated too.

My go to places are
Vape Dojo- Equipment
Vapor Alley-Equipment
Mt. Baker Vapor-Juice
Alice in Vapeland-Juice
VaporGoddess (She Carries Drakes Vapes and despite the name I love YOLO)
Those are my go to vendors for right now. I have tried several more but price and quality of these vendors keep me coming back.

I will look into that when i return from work, thanks!

I wold rather not name names as i cant prove who it was, or if it was a keylogger as Dogeggs said. While i did get ....ed, i would hate to tarnish anyones name needlessly.

I just want to take any steps possible to prevent this from happening again and continue enjoying this great new hobby of mine.

Another good thing could be using you CC within paypal.
There's cons & pros with paypal. Lots of stories etc. I myself was skeptical at first. But as most vendors accept paypal it's a breeze.
Also more convinient than typing cc code all the time.

I'm sorry you got .....ed up :(
Where did you buy?
It could have been an keylogger / trojan on your computer aswell.

CC fraud is what I do for a living....on the other side though :p Risk and Recovery for about 2000 banks and credit unions.

While it's certainly possible a worker at the vendor stole your information, generally the card info should be masked and there would be no way for the average worker to see your full card number with your order. They would have to be extremely lax in security to not be masking cards.
More likely is that somewhere, some crook hacked into somewhere that you shopped's system - possibly this business, possibly some other store. This happens to even the most reputable businesses though. These type crooks, have some very special skills. Several extremely reputable brick and mortar businesses were hacked in the last couple month to the tune of millions of card numbers. Usually these hackers then sell the card info on the black market and it takes days to months for any actual fraud charges to come through.

+1 on anti-virus recommendations.

Please know that w/any major cc brand, you are 100% protected from fraud. Your issuing bank must refund you w/in 5-10 days depending on brand, but most will do so immediately. I see 100s of horror stories every day and use my cards everywhere w/confidence.

+1 on prepaid cards to ensure they don't clear out all your $$ and you have to wait the week to get it back.

I would consider all the vendors tied to ECF reputable.

Not trying to say you're wrong or disagree or anything, again it's certainly possible. Just don't want you to be turned off online shopping....especially for vaping :)

Has little to do with vendor, since most of them don't save your #s after the order and/or can't see it in the first place. We have a spate of these every now and then, even with the best vendors. Usually the CC processing company gets hacked, or the user's computer by a keylogger, etc.

Only way to protect yourself is either get a credit/debit card that you ONLY use for online purposes, and keep limite amount on it, or get one of those pre-loaded CCs that you can load when you want.

My credit cards and bank card got hacked several times in like a years time. Not just from ecig vendors so I now have a Citi Card Visa they offer a virtual number you can get for your transactions that is only good for one purchase. Haven't had a problem since. It is added steps you have to take for purchases but it is worth it.
