Just got my Blu

This is my first post. I got mine in the mail about a week ago. When I first took it out and tried it I was very very excited. Since there was both a spare battery and atomizer, my girlfriend insisted that she use one and share my cartridges until hers comes in. Hers should be here any day, although they weren't in today's mail.

My impression after constantly wishing I actually got a decent amount of vapor and throat hit is that it's garbage. I can charge it full, puff on it for a few cigarettes worth and the battery is dead. Furthermore every drag is a drag...there's no vapor or TH, and as a result I feel like I have to puff and puff until eventually I have to have an analog.

Thank goodness I came upon this forum and then decided to youtube some video reviews. I can't believe some of the vapor that others are getting out of their ecigs. I've spent the last few days trying to decide which to order to replace mine. Lucky for me, I can return it within the 30 day window. My girlfriend seems to like it, and since hers is set to arrive in a day or two, I want to order one that I don't consider 'a waste of money'. Perhaps she'll see the difference and want to return hers before the 30 day window is up.

Now I'm off to research the forum some more. It looks like with a little more research, I may be able to figure out exactly which one will work best for me, and not go broke ordering it. Best of luck to you, glad you're happy with your purchase.

I'm not sure how folks are burning out their atomizers. I started with Blu July 1 and, yes, I have ordered spare atomizers, which BTW, have a longer wick than the originals and work much better, but I simply dry off the wick with paper towel and then they seem to work again. I think what happens, because I refill the carts with juice, and I sometimes overfill and flood them. I believe I did flood out one battery too. However, I keep sending things back and getting replacements and their customer service has been really good to me. However, I am now going to upgrade to a 510 since that seems to be the choice around this and other forums and review sites. I like the Blu pack and hope I can find a similar set up with a 510.
PS . . . after 45+ yrs of smoking I was able to quite the fist day my Blu arrived and haven't had or even craved an analog since. Smoking cough is gone, breathing is better, smell is gone, breath is better and I have met a whole new class of people at the clubs . . . heh heh . . . non-smokers. I have also converted friends and relatives to e-cigs.

Ordered it about a week before Thanksgiving, just got it on Monday though. So far I'm enjoying the hell out of it, even if I still find myself craving an analog cigarette. That said, I really don't get the hate that I've seen directed at Blucigs. It works just fine, plenty of vapor, good throat hit, the battery life is respectable, and it was fairly cheap to get two kits.

Smoke free for 24 hours as of this post.

Congratulations! Hey, if it works for you it works! (Whose to knock it?) :)

Knocking Blu e-cigarettes seems to be a hobby of some here I have noticed from my short time here. Not sure why, but every time someone posts they like them the knocking of them starts. Strange but I guess everyone neEds a hobby.

I ordered them first and they introduced me to vaping. Being a heavy smoker, I have moved on to more powerful models, but do miss the look of them and some of the ease they have.

Still have my kit and will use it again, maybe when I am more adapted to vaping and can lower my nicotine level.

If Blu is working for you, don't let anyone stop you, we all have different paths to travel to give up analogs. :)

I love the flavors of blu. Pretty much all of them minus Tobacco - ick. But the batteries are just..... sadface. But I never had any atty problems. I actually liked the atty's. No burnt taste (ever) and the flavor was always very clean and strong.

Edit: about the atty problems. Has anyone thought that the problem might possibly be that the blu carts contain Johnson's creek juice? There are some known problems with their juice clogging attys (although like I said before I never once had this problem)

i've always heard that it doesn't work for "heavy smokers". how heavy are people smoking? lol i was up to about 2 packs a day of american spirits or menthol 100s and the little volcano (same model as blu) did just fine for me.

one thing that i never see anybody besides myself mention is that it takes a few days for the attys in these smaller models to break in. unless you have a passthrough you could toss it on and speed up the process, even volcano will outright tell you that it takes 2 or 3 days for the atty to fully kick in. don't rip it open, try it and immediately think it sucks.

I hope you enjoy your Blu.

It actually gives me sympathy pains whenever I see a post bashing someone else's choice because even if it isn't intended to, it somehow has the flavor of insulting the person who purchased it which makes me uncomfortable. What is a good fit for one person isn't going to cut it for another. I know there are folks who would hate the Ego for the size and look alone, even if that doesn't matter to someone else. I did research this forum before I made my purchase. In fact, I did weeks of research and I still went with Smoke Tip. I've enjoyed my ST immensely and have turned at least 4 others onto it as well and they all love it,too. While I'm open to new suggestions and expanding my aresenal of vaporizers, I have continued to repurchase batteries from ST becasue I like the KR808d1 style and theirs has performed better than a few other 808s I've purchased from other vendors and I like the service I get from them. So what if I have 3 charging on my walls or computer at any given time? So what if the batteries don't vape as long as a big cigar style? I have a car charger, wall chargers, usb chargers, a charging carrying case......so I'm always good to go. If I get stranded on a deserted island any model will give out eventually, so big deal. I like the carrying convenience of this style and it's easy to stealth vape without being noticed. So hooray for me (and you and your Blu).:p

edited to add: I consider myself a heavy vaper, too.

Sorry for all the questions, should I try a drip tip? I see they have those for these..if i understsnd correctly, I can refill using teh drip tip? Or am I off on that? Still learning!

Answering my own question, it looks like I cannot use a drip tip with the blu battery as it is automatic.

Was all set to try out the 306, but they are twice the price of blu's attys, a fraction of the length guarantee on them..and they say it typoically lasts one month, add shipping costs (blu is free shipping) & I don't know that I'm better off, KWIM?

I'm as OCD as they get & have been off reg cigs for almost 4 years..but am heavy on using this! It's working for me, As long as I keep extra batteries & attys on hand, I purchase some, exchange some, go back & forth. I also go back & forth on using their cartridges & eliquid, I pop in a new catridge, then nurse it along by dropping a touch right onto the atty. I clean the attys by soaking in cola that was heated to boiling..then rinse well w/ hot water, blow out, prime prior to using, I often get 2-3 more cycles off the attys that way.

When I read about all the other brands, it looks like you are constantly buying replacement parts for those also, so I'm not getting where I'm ahead by switching??? I love the charger pack, customer service is great...

I completely agree with you. I have a KR808D-2 model that I ordered from China. I have a couple of usb chargers for my 4 batteries and a PT & that is all I've needed. The place I bought it gave me color options for the battery & light & cartomizer tips, so I have my own custom looking PV. I've seen nothing but negative posts about the supplier, but they have been great to me. One of my batteries went out after a week and they gave me an address stateside to return it for a replacement. On the other hand, the standard 510 I bought, I hate. Always filling it, juice in my mouth, dead batteries..hate it. My advice is to do some research and buy what you want to buy. There is nothing like experience. Most people could buy 3 different starter kits for what they spend monthly on analogs.

Many people have had poor luck with that product including myself but if it is working for you and keeping you off analog cigarettes than it is doing its job. The Blu-cigs have a lot going for them in terms of size and convenience and just like any company that plans on being in business for a while they may be making changes to develop a better product. There are so many brands of vaporizers out there it is crazy, all that matters is that you have found a product to keep you a little bit healthier. I wish you all the best and advise you that in time the cravings subside, I tried to think the near term bennefits of switching to vaping. I wont patronize you buy listing them as chances are you already thought of that when you decided to convert.

I sincerely hope you stick with it and your blu's continue to be a product that changed your life.

I am not sure, the short time I used blu's I never really had any problems with the atty's my beef was with the batteries, the vapor production, and somewhat with reliability (however that was usually the batteries). Blu-cigs were the ones who turned me on to JC smoke juice as like you said the flavor of the blu's was awesome.
