Really, the thing about charging the batteries unattended, it's probably only 1 in several thousand that fails like that and burns, but if I really don't have to, which I don't, I choose not to risk it. If the only time I could possibly ever charge batteries was while sleeping, well, I'd possibly risk it, but I'd rather not.
msqun, you may be right. I don't use lower voltage regularly, so I really have no idea how long to expect an LR atty to last. I hope mine end up being as good as yours are.
