I just picked up a Vamo V5. I only have had cigalikes and upgraded to VV ego style stuff a few years back. Since this is my first variable wattage and variable voltage. Does anyone have any advice on how to adjust? I currently have a Protank on the Vamo, but worried about frying stuff and could use some advice on how to handle the watts and voltage.

Pick your mode, VV or VW. Start low and go up in steps until it starts to taste off, then back off a step or two.

Do make sure your Vamo is in RMS mode. Getting there may depend on the maker.... but mine, a KSD, you press and hold the down (-) button for at least 10 seconds to toggle between average (MEAN) and RMS, so whichever mode it WAS in is then changed.

I adjust my wattage with each juice flavor to bring out the best flavor of the juice. For everyone this is different for me my low is around 15.7 and my high is 40 watts. It just depends on what YOU like and what tastes best to you. You should expirement with different wattages and see what you like best.see what wattage brings out the best flavor for YOU. Their is NO set specific wattage. However if your using a premade coil and not making your own higher wattages can burn that type of coil, so again expirement and see what works best for you and your atomizer. Have fun and enjoy. See what brings out the best flavor for you.

RMS and mean are two ways of measuring the power of an AC waveform. One is "Root Mean Square", the other is a simple mean or regular average.

Depending on the actual waveform (probably PWM (Pulse Width Modulated)) the two ways of measuring the power may result in quite different numbers.

However, using either method should let you adjust the device relatively (if there is little or no vapor, turn it up; if the vapor tastes burnt, turn it down. Once you have a satisfactory vape, remember the number and the method.

Definitely put it to RMS mode. Much better vape on the V5.

I agree, even though you can adjust in both modes, the RMS gives a much more consistent vape. In mean mode, you'll find it gives a burnt taste sometimes and other times it will be fine - even at the same wattage or voltage settings.
