Getting a Vamo v5 got questions

Hey all i have been vaping for about 3 months now and I am upgrading from the common evod style batteries to a new vamo v5. This will be my first variable voltage./variable wattage mod. I currently use a protank 3 and I am curious as to how to set the wattage or voltage. I have a chart located here but dont understand the numbers in the green. Is that the watts in the green boxes and the ohms on the left side with the voltage across the top. will i need to adjust the voltage and the wattage on my device or just choose one or the other. Thanks for your help

When you set the output, you will be either in voltage or wattage mode. Either will get you to the same place, they just take a different route to get there.

Personally, I prefer variable voltage mode. As mgmrick said, start on a lower voltage and work you way up in incriments until you detect some burnt taste, then back it down a few notches. If you use multiple flavors, you may find that each flavor will have a "sweet spot" in voltage. Ie. fruit flavors best flavor in a lower voltage; coffee or tobacco flavors at a higher voltage.

Another method is to use the "ohms + 2" formula to find the voltage. For example, your coil's ohms is 2.0 ohm. 2.0 + 2 = 4 volts.

With variable wattage, if you know from experience you like to vape at 7 watts, you set the wattage at 7 watts. The processor remembers this setting. Then if you change to a tank with different resistance (ohms) than the first, the processor recognizes the different ohms and makes the calculations and sets the output so that you are still vaping at 7 watts.

Its all about personal preference.

thanks for the replies I am probably just making things more complicated than they really are but is it easier in one mode over the other or is it about the same and just user preference again. See right now im just not happy with my vaping experience and is why im looking into the vv/vw mod to hopefully enhance this experience.

Yes just personal preference. I prefer watts mode mainly because wattage setting is remembered on some mods where the voltage is not remembered when you change batteries.

There is some many great devices out there now. Much different from when I started over 3 1/2 years ago. Keep reading the forums here and try to decide what might fit your needs or if possible stop into a vape store and see what they have to offer

Since getting my first regulated mod, I hardly use ego batteries or mechanical mods any more. Variable power allows you to adjust to your different flavors and to different ohm coils, so you get more options to change your vaping experience for the better. Experiment with it in both modes. You'll likely prefer one or the other.

Your in the right place and the advice is solid start low and move up. It didnt work as well for me but you'll get it. I switched due to ignorance and necessity because I liked a big tank that was dual coil and the ego's didn't have the umpth to output what i wanted from it. I love my Vamo. Plus side I get to laugh at the wife when her little battery runes out and I just get to change mine.

yes you are right 7 watts is what i meant lol i just got so excited and found out with my protank 3 dual coil it is awesome at 10 watts witha 2.0 ohm coil so guess it has something to do with it being a dual coil or something but either way im loving it.

I have a Vamo V5 and a Protank 3 as well, I love them both. I would highly recommend getting the Kanger air control valve for your Protank. It's only about 5 bucks and in my opinion makes an enormous difference. Also the Aerotank coils which are the same as the Protank 3 coils but with the taller chimney seem to work better. If you're not in any rush you could always order them off fasttech and they're dirt cheap. Happy vaping :vapor:
