As stated above I go my new Joye eGo kit in Friday, but didn't have time to really start vaping until Sat. Gosh, I love my eGo so far. I, like so many others started out with an expensive rip-off, then found this forum that has been a real learning experience. I think I'm in Info-over-load at the moment. LOL. While I was reading around here and waiting for my eGo, I ordered and picked everything I need to start out with premixed and DIY e-liquids. Loving the DIY already! The big problem is all I really have for vaping, except for first kit that I really didn't like, is my starter Joye eGo kit and juices, and what came with that. Last night when I got home from work , the battery was dying on the one I had taken with me, so I went to charge it up and switched to the other cig that was charged and left at home. Gosh, my wall plug-in charger wouldn't! No lights come on or anything. Oh My, I paniced, until I remembered that I could remove the AC part and charge through my PC's usb. This has really got me thinking I better get back-ups now instead of waiting for something to go dead and I have to go back to analogs untill new parts arrive. Should I just order another eGo kit, or is it cheaper/better to buy parts separately? All I really know at this point is that I don't want to go back to analogs, even for a moment!

Thx,
Shes

Re kit vs parts for spares - depends what you need. A kit is often a better deal. And you definitely want to have both a spare battery (at least 1 beyond the 2 you swap) and a spare atty (I actually alternate 2, cleaning the one I am not using) and have a separate total spare in case an atty fails.

You need ejuices - I recommend FreedomSmokeUSA (10% discount code freedomsmokeusa though first try newyear in case that still works because that was good for 35% off)

and if your Ego uses standard 510 carts then i recommend you get some precut blue foam here to try using in the carts when the when stuffing stops working well. You can also try washing the white stuffing, drying it, fluffing it a bit and putting it back in but I just switch my PV carts to blue foam. This is the cheapest way to try the foam under $1 for 10 precut pieces for 510). I don't know if I recommend their standard juices I've heard the Kona Coffees they carry are good.
StrictlyEjuice.com, Flavor Shop!

if you like the blue foam, you can start cutting your own for Marineland Rite-size U Foam Sleeve from the aquarium dept of Petsmart.

And you might want to try some cartomizers instead of atty+cart so research those a bit. There are several different types for 510 and some are better than others.

Here is what I would order (and is what I am using now)

I would order at least 2 extra batteries, and if you want longer life, get the 900mah ones. I do fine with the 650s. I use one all day until it dies about 9PM, and then I take the fully charged one to the bedroom. The dead one goes on the charger. I always keep 2 unused spares in the drawer, as I have had a couple batteries go dead due to loose connections inside, or a bad switch. My supplier warranties these batteries for 6 months. (Liberty Flights)

I would also order a 5 pack of LR306 attomizers from them, and a 306 drip tip. You may need to use this setup without the cone, as I dont have a drip tip yet. I would also order a 5 pack of regular 510 attys, and watch the youtube vidio from PHEE on how to remove the wick in an atomizer. (I do not do this to the 306 attys, only the joye510 attys)

I would next order 5 or 10 of the new Fluxomizers from GotVapes in the 2.7 Resistance range.

Get your self an extra charger (or 2 of yours is dead)
You may want to just order another ego kit in lieu of the 5 pack of 510 attys, that way you get a charger with it. Liberty flights has some of the best prices and warranty. Make sure to click on the "save 20%" in the upper left corner of the home page. I got my ego for $39.99 and inexpensive and quick shipping.

As far as juice, you may want to start a thread on what juices have pleased you so far, and ask for suggestions on others you can try.

Call your supplier. They should replace the defective charger. Don't bother with replacement parts, just get the L-F 510 Riva kit for $30, and you will have 2 extra attys, batteries, and another charger. Don't use LR attys on the eGo battery unless you want to take the risk of burning out your batteries, BUT the Boge 510 LR (2ohm) cartomizers work really well with the eGo.

Totally agree with just buying the second kit! LF has great prices and your first kit probably came with 2 batteries, 2 atties, charger, and cartridges! So you would double all that! 2 batteries cost more for an Ego than the whole kit ($40)!
Very smart to be prepared with backups! No one want's to be stuck stalking the mailman because of equipment failure! LOL
By the way congrats on the new Lifestyle change and welcome to the ECF!

I received my eGo on Saturday and am loving it as well. My wall charger and USB charger both appear to be functional and I have yet to run down either of the two batteries that came with the kit but I do plan to purchase a second USB charger as I want to leave one at work and leave one at home. Might get a third to leave in my bug out bag for last second travel.

What I really need is a convenient way to carry the stuff around in a analog size package as I am afraid of putting them in my pocket and then sitting down a breaking the battery off of the carto.

Something I found makes a great carry case is a hard shell Eye Glasses or Sun Glasses case! Found at Walmarts type places pretty cheap! Also find when I drive by myself I can pop the case open and set in the seat next to me as it makes like a shallow cup things do not roll out of it for an easy grab! Plus it's deep enough to not squeeze and discharge a manual battery! It holds batteries juices and an assembled e-cig and some extra tissues with ease!

I also use a glasses case, but usually I just wear the eGo around my neck with a lanyard that I made.

Getting a kit would give you immediate backup for your batteries, charger and attys.
I stepped on my USB charger, bent it, still worked, but ordered 2 more the same day hour.

With extra batteries and chargers covered, the easy and fun way to build up backups
for an ego is to sample all the different choices out there. If you order a couple of
spare 510 atty, a LR 510 atty, a LR306 atty, a couple ego mega attys, mega cartos,
regular 510 cartos, CE2 R4 cartos, LR 510 cartos, by different manfacturers and experiment
to see what you like best. With an adapter you can try 801, 901 and 808 attys & cartos.
When you find what you like best, the rest go into your Plano tackle box as backup.

That is such a great idea for carrying around my basic vape at work, shopping, etc. I've been worried about the battery getting accidently discharged and dying too soon.
Thanks!

I certainly see a tackle box in my furture! Wonder if I can find one that I could put a lock on...to make it childproof?
Thx

I keep a kit. It's a little Caboodles makeup case, The Sassy "It" Bag. It has elastic loops inside the lid with a vinyl overlay that I can slip my atties, cartos and slim 510 batteries in and keep them together. Then it has elasticized pockets lining the inside of the bag where I keep all of my juice bottles. It literally holds everything but my big 3.7v battery charger. My dad uses a small, inexpensive (I think it was $4 at Wal-Mart) tool box with a removable top tray with dividers. The bottom is deep enough to hold 10ml bottles of juice and the top divider trays hold his cartos.

For traveling you could swing by a Pearl Vision or Wal-Mart vision center and buy a deep, clamshell eyeglasses case. That will protect your PV and, if deep enough, may even hold up to a 10ml size bottle of juice. Some people buy a Case Logic flash drive case with the mesh pockets. Those run about eight to twelve bucks at places like Staples and Wal-Mart.

If you want to be prepared, so you won't find yourself in the throes of a nic fit and out of juice or you have two dead batteries, I recommend the following (this is for your at-home kit):

~At the very least an extra battery like a 510 slim or another eGo battery (preferably).
~A three-pack of atomizers. You never know if you're going to have one last you six months or if you'll pop two in the same day.
~A 5-pack of cartomizers
~A delrin drip tip (or two. They're cheap. I keep a few handy for when people want to try my PV. It's more sanitary that way.)
~Depending on how many milliliters of juice you go through in a day, it never hurts to have a 30ml+ size bottle of your favorite juice handy. I have quite the selection of juices, but go back to a small handful regularly. Still, I keep sample size bottles of flavors I either don't like as much or they have a higher nic strength than I vape regularly, just in case.
~A Tuberculin syringe. You never know when you'll need one to extract liquid from the bottom of a narrow mouthed bottle or to fill a carto. These hold 1cc (or 1ml) of liquid and are small enough in diameter to fit inside a small bottle.
~A thumbtack/toothpick/unbent paper clip for removing soft caps on cartomizers.
~I hang onto those small ziplock baggies vendors send with atties, drip tips and/or batteries. These come in handy when you're traveling with a bottle of juice to keep it from leaking everywhere.
~An extra charger or a USB passthrough.
~Business cards from the vendors you purchase from. I use these to give to people who see me vaping and express interest. I always keep a card for Cignot and Bluemist Vaping on me at all times.

This may seem like a lot, and some call me overly prepared (my sister says I'm obsessed to the point of overkill), but I never, ever want to go back to analogs. It also helps to employ the buddy system. If you have a friend or relative who vapes, or you think may convert to vaping, it's always nice to be able to trade juices with them or bum cartos off one another if you run out.
