I need some help! After every three or four pulls I start getting that well known burnt taste. I've only used cartos, so this whole cart, atty deal is brand new to me. What am I doing wrong? I find it unreasonable to think that I have to take the whole thing apart every couple of minutes to put more juice around the atty and the cart. I'm using the carts that come with the Riva SE from LF. I'm so fed up with the whole thing that I just ordered some Boge cartos, but in the meantime, what can I do?

Thanks in advance!

I changed my filling out with aquarium filter floss. Pillow stuffing is often the same this, as is the the white filter floss used under a lot of fake christmas trees, if you have any of those(pillow filling is saff, its the outer cover that is sprayed with fire ......ants BEFORE it is filled.

I have the same issue with carts- I hate the filling (cotton)- and the constant REFILLING I use fluxo's on my riva's and i am VERY happy with the results. I have used everything- atties, dripping (I failed remedial dripping 101) , Boges, duals (great taste, but cuts the batt life in half), everything- I always feel like I am loosing alot of juice in the batting, AND, I get dry hits with all of them, but with the fluxo's less.

OH and I do still have to use an atty and cart with my big red gum, it eats my clearo's UP- SO- I get that 'dry' hit all the time.

Yeah, the filler isn't much. I have gone the circle of attachments, I guess that's a good description. I also got the Riva 510 Kit from LF. Tried the ego cartos, ego tank, of course the atom/cart that came with it, Ikenvapes cartos, Boge 2.0 cartos (the best IMHO). I've learned if care is given to the 2.0 cartos they will last a bit longer. They have such an awesome hit, that it is easy to leave the button pushed in a bit too long and that can burn the carto, giving out that yummy burnt taste. I also like the drip method. It takes a lil bit to get it right, but it's worth it. I ffel like I save more liquid using the drip method. I dunno.

Buy yourself a "drip shield" from empiremods dot com, get a drip tip, and try dripping, also do yourself a favor and get some LR-901 Atty's and a 510-901 adapter and run a LR-901 Atty with the drip tip and drip shield, you will get a much higher quality vape and way more flavor trying what I said, if you but the stealth adapter you can also run the LR-510 Atty with the drip shield both Atty's will run great and the vape will be bliss, way less hassles than dealing with those nasty carts and filler !

For the few good vapes and the 3 bad ones you get from your full carto ( Not Acceptable ) you will get 7 great vapes from this set up I tell you about with an LR-901 and then you just drip drip drip 8-9 drops in your drip tip and 7-8 more great vapes this way, it is FAR less hassle then these cartos with filler you are using and just a way better vape all the way around, and cheap to find out !

If you are going to use the carts, it's important to know that all 'stuffing' material is NOT the same.

Polyfil: can be puchased at places lime walmart, craft store etc. Make sure the poly isn't flame ......ant. You don't want to vape that- and check the fiber content as well. There are different cotton percentages. Polyfil comes loose and on rolls.

Aquarium filters: also known as blue foam. Make certain you do not get the kind filled with charcoal. You'll probaly have to go to a pet store to get it. The ones at walmart all have charcoal inside (if I remember correctly)

** white foam (the name is escaping me ATM! pfft): this is also used in filters and tanks and IMHO works the best. It's sold at pet stores like Pet Smart and you can also buy online. If you'd like a sample, PM me your addy and I'll send you some. It works/wicks really well.

Pyramid Tea bags: these also work nicely and some people swear by them. There are several good videos out there on the different ways to fold them. Just make sure you purchase the tea bags made of the right material.

Anyhoo. Good luck! After fiddling around for a few months I switched to dripping. I found that I had to refil so often that it was almost the same as dripping. But YMMV.

I agree with Oldjoe -- the Riva with Boge 2.0 cartos rock. No one has mentioned problems with juices but there is one very popular vendor that I ordered 2 popular juices from and they both taste burnt and burnt the cartos too. If you like sweet or chocolate juices this can be a problem. Be sure to see instructions somewhere here on ECF on filling cartos because if you don't completely soak the filler the first time you will burn your carto and there's nothing you can do but pitch it. Once you get the hang of it you'll love cartos though. Nobody said quitting cigs was going to be easy and there is a newbie learning curve. I'm 100 days in and still learning. I've never burnt a carto using Backwoods Brew juices.

My Riva 510 should be here literally any minute now - already stalking the mailman :) However, I got mine exclusively for dripping - and only then for sampling juices. I use 808xls exclusively with jumbo dripper MF style cartos - but needed a way around ruining a carto just to try diff juices! So, for me it's all about the atty only! All of this info is very good to know though - since obviously it will be hanging around as a back up if ever needed! Thanks much!
