when trying to pulse it would drop to 1.1 and the Vamo would error out, I am assuming because of hotspots?
Did you oxidize your mesh in any way? Torch it before rolling? Adding juice to the tip where the coils make contact and burn with a lighter or just by pulsing and removing hot spots?
Thanks for the reply Endor. Unfortunately I do not have a mechanical. I tried it unoxidized on a vamo. I did the drill bit method with the coil and they were glowing beautifully until I inserted the unoxidized mesh, it would read 2.1 and when trying to pulse it would drop to 1.1 and the Vamo would error out, I am assuming because of hotspots? I took the mesh out and did the juice and burn with lighter method and then wrapped a coil around it and that did the trick. It is working but flavor is on light side, hopefully it is just break in period.
-- a Kamry K100/K101 works great and can be had pretty inexpensively, and has the added benefit of allowing you play with lower ohm setups.
This...
I got a K100 from DiscountVapers... I think it was 37 and came with a Kamry safety fuse. Nice little mech.
Yes, unfortunately, the pulse method requires a mech IMHO. Since the mesh is bare metal when you first insert it, it will short like crazy. No regulated mod is going to like this. The good news is, you don't need a really expensive/fancy mech (and I'm too cheap to buy them anyway) -- a Kamry K100/K101 works great and can be had pretty inexpensively, and has the added benefit of allowing you play with lower ohm setups. My sweet spot is 0.7 - 0.8 ohm coils (28ga Kanthal, about 3 wraps).
Thanks gents... Yes, I ordered a Private V2 clone from Fasttech this morning... Should have it in a month![]()
Getting great flavor, descent vapor but a little "harsh" throat hit that makes me cough... I drilled the air to 1.4 mm, smaller than 1/16th think if I drill it more, to say 1/16th it will ease the throat hit?
Probably. My RSST, stock, had a small hole and a wicked TH. Drilled it out to 1/16th and both flavor and TH improved dramatically, along with improved vapor production.
