Just got in the Ego-T and so far one of the attys working great, getting great throathit, flavor and vapor production and the other atty getting alot of bad taste ( most of the time ) every now and again get a good hit from it but most of the time getting that burnt taste I assuming the dry burn taste is there anything I can do to fix that? BTW : Still somewhat new to the vaping world only been using the 808 style batt. so anyhelp would be GOOD.

The burnt taste is because there's not enough eliquid in the atty.

Popular solution, prod the wick down a little in the actual piercing straw. If you shine a light down there you can see there's a bundle of fibre in the middle straw. Podge it down a little with something carefully. If that still doesn't work, use a small needle and poke a small hole in the wick carefully. Be really careful doing this. If you push it too far down you'll have to take the whole plate out to reposition it or if you make a hole in it that's too big it'll be damaged beyond repair.

What I did with my tanks on the first fill is fill the carts up then leave it upright overnight. It really helps to suck through the mouthpiece as the wick works on vaccum pressure. Suck through the mouthpiece a few times reasonably hard and leave it upright.

If you use thicker liquids it'll take longer to wick so keep that in mind. I used very very thick 100% vg and it still wicked, just slower. I could get 8 - 12 puffs then had to leave it for 5 minutes. If it can work with liquid as thick as that you should be ok with anything but it's adviseable to use a higher pg content than vg if possible as it's a thiner, easier to wick liquid.

If you leave a tank upright too long it can leak. My partner tells me his leaks often if he has it upright for a while but I had to always leave mine upright because it was a much thicker liquid. A bit of getting used to.

One other thing that's a possibility is, did you really blow it out before your first use? If there's any "primer" in there it'll be a bad time for you until it's all gone. Blow it out, fill it up, suck through the mouthpiece, leave it for a couple of hours then vape it back in.

If all else fails ask your vendor for a replacement if it's under warranty. If it's not working, it's not working.

Nice choice with the ego! I reccommend, you get an 510 to 808 adapter and put some 808 cartos on there or just drop a few $ on 510 cartomisers. I say 808 adapter because you can still use your 808 batteries if you want to or in an emergency and cartos are really nice if you fancy a change. It's a small amount for an adapter and some cartos just to have on you. I still have ego tank atties but they've been totally replaced by 808 cartos for me because they have a really nice warmth and so so much more flavour than tanks. I'm not saying what you have is wrong and wont work, I just prefer them.

Good luck and let us know how you get on!

Thanks leftfield You know I didn't blow out the new atty and I had every intention to do that but was over excited I guess and just forgot. Going to try blowing it out first and if don't work try the other suggestions you mentioned. thanks for the advice, BTW : I did get the adapter you mentioned so I could use my 808 carto cause I still like the cartos.

Hello Spidermo... I have been using a tank system for a month and and a half now and have picked up a few tricks or tips as well as ran across a vid of what leftfield describes for wick adjustment.... ‪eGo-t wick adjustment‬‏ - YouTube is the link.

If the taste is more of a burnt plastic taste the hanging chad or tab from when you punctured the tank cap could be in the spike or touching the spike and will cause a burnt taste... Pull the tank cap of remove chad or tab the cap with some tweezers.... I pre punch my tanks and remove the tab before filling... My personnel experience with filling and using Tanks is fill, attach tank, take a few primer puffs, and vape.... I find if I pull to hard I dump the tank and flood everything... Slow long drags not hard are golden... But be wary of hot boxing....

Thanks for the link on wick adjustment pretty cool. I am going to try and remove the chad ( tab ) as well and pre punch the tank. Thanks Scotay87

You seem to be on the right track and Leftfeild seems to have everything covered. I started with the ego-t myself and I wish that I would have had this type of information the first time I had a burnt taste. I thought it was the end of the world  Also, if you think you might need a larger battery in the future you can get the 1000mah one. I actually have a brand new one listed in the classifieds right now.

I also started with the eGo T, and the bad taste can be from several things, one of them as noted that the wick might need to be tamped down just a tad ( use a paperclip into the puncture devise ) but be warned, no more than say 1/16th of an inch or so. If you push the wick through, you are hosed on that atomizer.

After working with atomizers that didn’t always taste good and other issues with the tank, I ended up buying LR cylinder atomizers ( type B ) and mega cartridges ( type B ) for my ego, and i have dropped the tank and now use the type B cartridge system exclusively.

your mileage may vary

Thanks everyone for the great advise. I'm really not sure what type I have but I do think it is type A and while one of the attys performing very good the other still not doing as well as the other. I am tempted to go with a LR atty but reviews I've seen say that it does burn juice faster and deminishes the flavor but does perform alot better. Any thoughts on the LR Atty? Going to try and tinker with the under performing atty tonight so hopefully all goes good.

It burns a little more juice than the regular atty but it is definately worth it. You will not care about the liquid once you see the difference, trust me.

There is no indication when the battery is low. When the battery has run out, it will give you a succession of about 8 flashes and will cease to function until recharged. You'll know when this happens since its usually mid-vape. My batteries initially lasted me about 28-36 hours replacing a pack-a-day habit, so your battery has probably run out before I got to responding. :D
