Couple questions about the iStick as this is my first mod where I can adjust voltage or wattage.

Is it safe to assume that the higher in number I vape at the faster I'm going to go through juice as the coil is going to heat juice faster?

I have a 1.8 ohm coil in it and let's say I'm vaping at 10 watts, if I put a 2 ohm coil in it, it will adjust the voltage higher to attain the same 10 watts correct?

What is the point of getting a higher resistance coil? I can only come up with that you can vape at higher watts or voltages, but so far I can't even imagine vaping over 12 watts, although as I've learned what I like you may not like and vice versa and some people may enjoy vaping at 18 watts.

Hi PWG, welcome to the forum. If you are using your iStick in wattage mode, you won't need to do a thing if you screw a different resistance coil into your Nautilus, it will auto-adjust the voltage to make it stay at the wattage you had it set previously. You may still need to adjust the wattage to get the vape you prefer though.

If you are using it in voltage mode, then yes, when you put in the new head, you will have to manually adjust the voltage to get back to the 10 watts. Either way, you will probably have to adjust power settings to get the vape you prefer. That's why having a variable voltage or variable wattage device is a good thing. You can dial in pretty much any resistance coil head to find a vape you like.

As for vaping at higher power levels, that's correct too - more power usually means the more vapor is produced. And of course this uses more e-liquid. It will also gunk up your coils faster and mean you'll have to change the coil head more frequently.

Juice flavor will have quite a bit to do with what wattage you decide to vape at as well. Some juices taste great at lower watts but some really only come alive at higher watts. If you taste burning, too high...if you're getting juice in your pie-hole, too low. The only time I've surpassed a dozen watts is with sub-ohm builds and, of course, my new Aspire Atlantis (which I hate as I'm a mouth-to-lung vaper). If you're using a Nautilus Mini or the like with 1-2 ohms coils, high single digits or low teens is were your sweet spot is most likely going to be. AN OUTSTANDING combo though...my Nautilus Mini/iStick is my go to out-and-about vape.

Higher ohm coils will:

1: Save your battery (same voltage = lower wattage = leff power draw)
2: In some cases, i will give you a warmer vapor
3: Lifespan - less vapor means less atomizing means less buildup...
4: Personal preference - for people on replaceable atties and spinner batteries or straight non-adjustables (basically mech mod) they can adjust the ohm rating to get a flavor/vapor profile hey find appealing

This is my first step into variable watts/voltage and I'm noticing I like around 8-10 watts with the 1.8 ohm coil in the nautilus mini.

It feels like I'm going through juicy quickly though. I'm new to this and even on my old setup which was the beginner kit I bought a Kangertech EVOD pen style vape with the 1.6ML tank I feel like I go through juice so quickly. I'm filling up about 2 times a day, sometimes 3 if I'm vaping a lot. Is that normal? I understand it would come down to how much you're hitting it. I do vape at work so there isn't a period where I can't vape during the day, I don't hit it constantly. Maybe a couple hits then sit it down for half an hour or so then a couple more.

It seems like I fill it up to 2ML and after hitting it maybe 4-5 times I can already notice the tank getting lower and lower.
