Hi

I've been waiting a week for this and it just arrived.
Sorry for the newbie question, but I'm stuck as I don't know how to use it ..

I've got the Provari Provape 3 , it's settings are
4.1v
1.8ohm
9.6w

I'm using
frosted blueberry
70/30
6mg
.06 nicotine

The battery is charged, all plugged in.. but do I have to warm it up first before I use it?
I press the button once and .. well, nothing happens.
When I hold the button down for 5 seconds, it sounds like it is warming up, but (after that) if I press once then nothing happens.
It's been ready for an hour so far.
I press 4 times and I can go through the menu.
It is turned On in the menu.

I've read through the manual which says a lot but I cannot find where it says how to use it.

May I ask your advice ?

Good morning, and welcome to the board. I don't have one of those so I can't tell you what's wrong, but I do know that's a very good piece of gear. In general, no, e-cigs do not have to warm up before use, absent a really complex and massive coil build or gross underpower, and then it's seconds, not hours. Neither of those sound the case, from what you've said. 1.8 Ohms and 9 watts should be right down the middle for that machine. I'm going to bump this thread up for an answer; I'm sure one of the Provarinati will be along shortly. The first question they will ask is what kind of tank are you using, so you may as well post it before they do. Good luck! I'm sure we'll get it straightened out shortly. That's good gear.

no warm up needed, turn the unit on by clicking the fire button ( dont know how many times 3-5 maybe) I suppose one needs to hold the button down for a specific time to enter the menu mode... as you have guessed by now I dont own a Provari ;)
check out PBusardo on youtube and see if he did a clip on it... he usually goes into detail on how they work/function...

wow.. thanks for your help with this.

I got the ProVari 3 (P3) Starter Kit.
I looked at the PBusardo on YouTube, there's many and I watched his P3 review.

I've taken the wattage down to 7.1 but I cannot up the nicotine because.. well, I don't have any, the fluid is prepackaged.

I went through the manual again, but it's for experienced users I guess.
I was looking for the info where it says "to start using it, press the button for 5 seconds, then inhale as expected" or 10 seconds but stop before it pops, or make sure you rewarm it up if you have more than 30 seconds between usage... I'm trying all these things but I'm getting nowhere near the amount of vapour as PBusardo does in his videos or that my friends do. I'm only getting a small wisp of it.

Please let me know what I'm doing wrong..

The starter kit comes with an aspire nautilus clearo/delivery device/tank, the thing on top you put liquid in.
When you press the fire button if you're getting any vapor the unit is on.
It doesn't need to warm up, it needs to be set up properly, if you don't understand the instruction manual it's going to be difficult for at least me to explain it in less confusing terms. It is a great device, but, not really a good first or beginners device.

Is your liquid 70pg 30vg or 30pg 70vg?
70 vg is going to be slow / difficult to wick well in the nautilus but it will work if it is all you have, need to be cautious with the power to prevent dry hits & burning the wicking material.

Sounds like you've figured out how to adjust the power level / watts & read the menu.

First you must prime a new / unused head properly to prevent burning / scorching the wicking material.
The head is the thing you screw into the base that contains the coil ( heating element) & wicking material (stuff that transfers the liquid from the tank to the coil).
Head = coil & wick assembly in small tube shaped thing with holes in the side, the holes are where the liquid enters the head.
If you burn or scorch the wicking material the head will need to replaced, this inhibits liquid flow and gives weak vapor & taste or a burnt taste.

Before installing the head into base, look down into the head drip drops of liquid on top of the screen & allow them to soak in to the wicking material, keep adding drops until the wicking material is fully saturated. 4 - 7 ish drops depending on size of drops.
Install head into base tight, fill tank, thread tank & base together snug. Take a few un powered primer puffs, inhales through the tip / mouthpiece without pressing the fire button.
Let it sit for a few minutes. While doing this play with the airflow control ring & select a position you like.

Set the p3 to around 8w, press fire button, inhale.
Slowly increase power level taking a few vapes on each setting until you find what you like in vape quality, if you get a dry, weak or burnt taste turn it down.
It's best to use a lower power with a fresh / new head for at least the first couple dozen vapes to ' break in ' the head & make sure it is wicking sufficiently to prevent scorching/burning the wicking material.
You should see a bubble or two rising from the wicking holes in the head occasionally.
Depending on pg/vg ratio, flavor / flavorings, airflow & personal preference the nautilus should work well between 8w - 18ish watts.
The average is probably some where between 8w - 14ishw, don't push it until you understand more about what you're doing or you will burn the wicking material.

Thank you for your help ... if you don't understand the instruction manual it's going to be difficult for at least me to explain it in less confusing terms. It is a great device, but, not really a good first or beginners device. >. sorry for this, I re-read it and followed what to do but it's not giving anything out.

Is your liquid 70pg 30vg or 30pg 70vg? > 70pg 30vg

my settings are correct, according to the manual and what you guys said
  • 8.0v
  • 1.7ohm
  • 3.6w
I have 70pg 30vg
First you must prime a new / unused head properly to prevent burning / scorching the wicking material. > The wick (inside the BVC atomizer) is fully saturated with the fluid, I had earlier let it stand for a few minutes before using it.

I followed your steps again
  • Before installing the head into base, look down into the head drip drops of liquid on top of the screen & allow them to soak in to the wicking material, keep adding drops until the wicking material is fully saturated. 4 - 7 ish drops depending on size of drops.
  • Install head into base tight, fill tank, thread tank & base together snug. Take a few un powered primer puffs, inhales through the tip / mouthpiece without pressing the fire button.
  • Let it sit for a few minutes. While doing this play with the airflow control ring & select a position you like.
  • Set the p3 to around 8w, press fire button, inhale.
  • Slowly increase power level taking a few vapes on each setting until you find what you like in vape quality, if you get a dry, weak or burnt taste turn it down.

this is my sequence below..I hand-tightened everything, settings are correct.
do I remove the white plastic ring which is between the head and the tank? I'm keeping it on there because the small instruction pamphlet shows it stays on.
