Newby here, just bought the SE unit at the mall (I know, to much $$$)
Anyhow, is this about how these e-cigs are?
I get the nic it, but sometimes (alot) it seems "weak", like I have to drag hard to get a "proper" hit. I have the "high nic" cartridges.

Also, I suppose I can do the repacking with the liquid just like other brands? Will it give me better results?

What does this SE unit compare to (brand wise) so I can view posts about similar/same units.

Other than that, so far it's ok. The carts are certainly NOT equal to 1.5 packs of smokes. (Like I was told). If that's the case I went through 3+ packs of smokes since 2 o'clock today. (No, not chain vaping)

I've smoked only one analogue since I bought this, hope this trend continues.

Oh, I bought a "kit" with 2 batteries, 1 battery is bad :(

Any suggestions/advise please?

Hi there! get some liquid, the SE cartridges seem to be a little dry and don't produce a lot of vapor to begin with. since you are new, make sure you are doing a quick primer puff (like lighting a real cigarette) and then a slow long draw. Hold the vapor in your mouth for a second or two and then inhale. Also, you can get some glycerine - (Wilton's) at most craft stores in the baking section .. adding a drop or so to your cartridge will increase the amount of vapor produced.

Also, it will take a day or so to really get the benefit because it takes a little bit to get used to it. Also, the SE doesn't really produce the "big clouds" of vapor like the 510 or even the 401, but it will get you by.

If the battery is bad, take it back.. there's a year warranty on them. You paid enough for it, it should work!

the SE isn't a bad little device to start off with.. so play around with it and it should begin to work better for you! Good luck!

One of the few 'advantages' of the SE is one of the easiest and best warranties going. Take that bad battery back to the mall and they should replace it no questions asked.

The salesperson lied. a cart is nowhere close to a pack of cigarettes. One cart is probably closer to about three cigarettes. That is why you can not just use carts. It is CRAZY expensive if you do. Even if you buy stuff online from another vendor that sells compatible stuff. (BTW your SE GOLD is also known as an RN4081)

You REALLY need to get some juice to use with that and your cost will be DRAMATICALLY lower.

As far as performance goes, your E-cig is a super mini. That is basically the smallest 'class' of E-cig and is commonly viewed as the lower end of performance in general. That is not to say what you have is junk, just that some other models can perform better.

You can improve performance of your SE e-cig by foregoing the cartridges with a technique known as dripping. You would hollow out a cart by sticking a paperclip into the hole in the mouthpiece and poppoing out the insert cup. Then take some e-liquid and drip 2 or 3 drops directly on the atomizer and slide the 'blank' cartridge over it. That will last about the lenght of one cigarette.

There is a LOT of information on this forum and it may seem overwhelming at first. Click the link in my signature and watch Spikey's video then take your time reading about the different option avaliable. It is not a one size fits all kind of thing and what is going to fit you just right is a personal thing. You need to be the one to make that decision.

best of luck,
DW

Thanks, you guys are great. Lots of great advise.
I saw Terraphon's video (can't post link yet) on restuffing the carts. I assume this will work the same for me?

Yes, I already planned to take the battery back. 1 hours drive:mad: , should've tested both batts before I left the mall.

I'll definately get the Wilton's glycerine tomorrow and give that a try.
Your "hold the vapor in your mouth for a second or two and then inhale" advise makes a big difference already.

I guess mine is the same as the NJoy Pro?

Could you give me a link to where to buy the juice please?

Thanks again, great advise, great people :)

the "holding in the vapor" works for some and glad it worked for you! It made a different with my SE unit. No,. your unit is an RN4081,

just go to the main page and scroll down.. there's a list of a lot of suppliers.. just go through and find one that works for you. You might even get lucky and find a supplier in your hometown. For juice, a good guy to buy from is Mindtwist over at liquidxpress.. but you can find a lot of reviews of different stuff

E-Liquid Reviews - e-cigarette-forum.com • The place for electronic cigarette reviews, news and chat

there.. :) it's pretty much just browse until you find something you wanna try.. but i would recommend getting both a PG and a VG liquid just to see which one you like better.. if either! (pg is propylene glycol and VG is glycerine based) some people have allergies to PG liquid

If I may add;I have an Npro, and I went to the mall and the SE rep hit me up to buy his product.I showed him what I have and he let me try his batt.on my atty. And it worked.I then tried his atty to my batt.and it worked. So in short, they are basically the same...But do get some juice!I don't know the diff.between the carts, but I will say that Njoy carts don't work so well for me.And the flavors are not what one would expect.drip,vape,enjoy.

My first unit was an SE. Bought 4 of them for me and some family members. THEY SUCK! It almost ruined me on e-cigs. If it wasn't for this very forum I would have given up.
I found that my SE unit worked best if I urinated on it before every hit. Much better taste and vapor. hehe:evil:
Did you have aspearagus before urinating on it? new flavour some day...

Sorry to hear about your problems with that brand. You are not alone, there are quite a few new members who have posted the same thing you just did about SE.

When you get your next PV (personal vaporizer) you will be able to do more research on this site and get a better device. Here is a poll of members favorite devices as a starting point:

I hope it gets better for you.

Thanks again.
Gonna order some juice today.
I saw the "favorite PV" post, I actually considered getting a Titan (in a month or so). Now I see that the Trog's Screwdriver is voted highest. What a monster though.
This SE is working better this morning with a fresh battery too. I'll give is some more time, but I think this SE will suffice for now...use fresh batts and get some juice.

The Screwdriver isn't as big as it looks in the pictures. It's the same size as a 901. You should check out the new Prodigy coming out from puresmoker, the first US manufactured PV.

I bought the SE gold as well for my first E-Cig. Only complaint I have so far is the backup battery went dead.

I just kept the idea I was doing it wrong for long enough I figured out how to do it right :p.

I have since given up refilling carts completely. I am only dripping now with an empty cart on the tip for looks .

Its still easier then carrying around a pack of smokes and a lighter. Just have my e-cig and a 3mL bottle of liquid and I'm set. If I stop getting good vape just drip a drop and keep moving. I love my SE at the moment. It just works and I don't have to drag as much now that I drip. Just have to be careful not to over fill and your golden.

I do plan on getting other styles though but for now this one will work.

Happy Vapeing!!!

I bought the SE gold as well from their website and had the same problems as far as the not getting enough vapor to make it worth while using.I even had a cartridge get stuck so hard on the atty I had to cut it off and cut myself in the proccess. This was the first day of trying to vape and was darn near ready to give up and buy a pack of ciggs. But a very nice person told me to try the same things everyone else here has said.To be honest the only thing that worked for me was purchasing the DSE901 Mini.I love it,mine produces huge amounts of vapor and works so good I haven't smoked since.I sure wish I could get my money back on the SE Gold but sometimes that's the price of learning.Oh and just got some e juice and I've been dripping a couple drops in my spent carts and it's like new all over again. Not to bum you out but just thought I would share.

I just purchased this SE Gold in a mall in FL three days ago and am calling my credit card company to dispute the charges.
"One Cartridge is equal to one pack of cigarettes the idiot in the mall told me. If I have to suck on it any harder, I'm gonna start smoking cotton balls... The stupid thing won't hold a charge through six drags...I know, I know, "buy a new battery". I just shelled out over $100 for this starter kit and don't feel like I should have to buy anything more to check it out, ya know?
Nobody answers the phone, ever and I live in Illinois...

I would like to buy a new (DIFFERENT) one and have no idea where to start. I would prefer something lighter and shorter as this seemed a bit heavy and long.

Thoughts anyone?

You can read the forums, become more educated, then make your own decision that you will have to be accountable to yourself for

OR

just wait for someone tell you what to do then if it does not work out the way you wanted you can blame them and not have to be at all accountable for yourself.

Seems to me the latter route is how you got yourself into the situation you are in in the first place though. Rather than researching the product yourself you took the word of a SALES person at face value and made an impulse purchase.

Good luck disputing it with the CC company. I did not know they allowed reversing charges on the grounds of poor judgment.
