Just got the SmokingEverywhere unit...

Not open for further replies.
I just purchased this SE Gold in a mall in FL three days ago and am calling my credit card company to dispute the charges.
"One Cartridge is equal to one pack of cigarettes the idiot in the mall told me. If I have to suck on it any harder, I'm gonna start smoking cotton balls... The stupid thing won't hold a charge through six drags...I know, I know, "buy a new battery". I just shelled out over $100 for this starter kit and don't feel like I should have to buy anything more to check it out, ya know?
Nobody answers the phone, ever and I live in Illinois...

I would like to buy a new (DIFFERENT) one and have no idea where to start. I would prefer something lighter and shorter as this seemed a bit heavy and long.

Thoughts anyone?

For starters, go to this thread....

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...hroat-hit-rn4081-smoking-everywhere-gold.html

Alot of great info there to get the most of your SE Gold.

Next, you do not have to buy new batteries. They have a warranty. When you do get in contact with them, tell them that you want to return the batteries for an exchange. They will not ask you for a reciept. Just return the batteries with a letter stating why you want to exchange them. that's it.

Do it certified mail with a confirmation that someone signed for the package to cover your .....

Next, what do you mean by "Not holding a charge"? The batteries have a cut off time of about 5 seconds. If you inhale for more than 5 seconds, it will cut off on you. Also, if you are puffing numerous times back to back non-stop, the batteries will start to blink several times. This does not mean that that batteries are dead, it means that it's cutting off and that you are taking to many puffs at once. It's a fail safe feature that most batteries have built in.

If your batteries are acting up. try charging them for 12 hours, vape for about 1/2 hour-45 minutes than charge again for another 4. This should get them going again.

Also, you can not smoke these like if they were analogs. 2-3 primer puffs then a nice and easy slow drag. It takes getting used to but that's how it's supposed to be done.

If it's to hard for you to drag, use a paper clip, insert it into the mouth piece and pop out the internal cart. Next, drip 3 drops of ejuice directly on the atomizer and replace the mouth piece back on. You will see a world of a difference in this manner. It is the preffered way to vape the SE Golds by 95% of SE Gold owners. Better flavor, better vapor and throat hit.

But remember, nice and easy slow drags.

You can read the forums, become more educated, then make your own decision that you will have to be accountable to yourself for

OR

just wait for someone tell you what to do then if it does not work out the way you wanted you can blame them and not have to be at all accountable for yourself.

Seems to me the latter route is how you got yourself into the situation you are in in the first place though. Rather than researching the product yourself you took the word of a SALES person at face value and made an impulse purchase.

Good luck disputing it with the CC company. I did not know they allowed reversing charges on the grounds of poor judgment.

DW

...Ouch! Seems you bite Waldo, pretty harsh coming from a Senior to a noob.

I had NO idea these things even existed until I saw them at this mall in Florida, went to dinner with my husband, researched their website, tried the "sample" they had onsite and thought; "What an incredible thing!" I would love to give up "analogs". I don't consider myself to be an impulse buyer nor would I just throw $100+ on the ground and just walk away.

My dispute is not that I made a bad judgment call, the product itself is defective. In case you didn't bother to read my original post, the thing won't hold a charge, I am literate, which means I can read AND follow directions.

Didn't your Mama ever teach you any manners?? If you can't say anything nice...

Go vape, maybe you can find some juice with some "nice" in it.

I'll let you know when my funds have been returned to my cc... Have a fabulous day.

Thanks Blue, I did read the post that you linked to, this is my first e-cig so I guess my frustration comes from it just not working properly per se.

The instructions did say to charge the first time for at least 10 hours so I threw it on the charger and went to sleep. Is it possible to overcharge??

When I woke in the morning, I did exactly as you instruct, 2 smaller puffs to get it started then my initial first drag. It worked perfectly! I am a light smoker (less than 10 analogs a day, even then I don't finish them) so after 5-6 drags, I was satisified. I put in a side pocket in my purse so that it lay horizontal and out the door we went. To breakfast, an hour later 4-5 more drags, shopping, three hours later, we are in the car and I take 2 or 3 drags and it starts flashing, then nothing. No light and almost no vapor.
Got back to hotel, put it on charger, 4 hours later, it's green again. I rinse and repeat, 2-3 smaller puffs to get it started then my initial first drag. It works perfectly! Then it flashes again and almost no vapor. Back on the charger it went. Six hours later, green again. Rinse and repeat. I gave up and left it on the charger overnight again, only to have the same issues the following day.

I call the toll free number, the recording tells me I'm next in the que and then it just rings and rings and rings...

If I'm doing something wrong....

sorry if I was a bit venomous. You probably did not deserve it.

So take what i said and translate it into nice words and apply the same meaning.

You are literate but somehow missed the 1 year warranty that would be used to replace the single defective part?

Filing a dispute with the CC company is effectively credit card fraud.

Do you have the product? Is the manufacturer willing to replace defective parts under warranty?

the answer to both of these questions is a resounding YES so you do not really have any ground to file a dispute with your CC company and yes I take it personally because every time someone files a false claim like this it makes it more difficult for people with legitimate claims. I might be that person that has a hard time disputing a legitimate claim because people who have abused the system because their own buyers remorse.

Send SE an email so they can tell you where to ship the defective part to. It is different than the address on the website and I can not find my notes from when i had to do an exchange on some carts with them.

Then read the thread BlueMax posted the link for and watch Spikeys video that is linked in my signature. Once you are done doing those things get your hands on some liquid and toss a few drops on the atomizer to find out how well your product is capable of performing.

here is an idea what you can expect...

Let me tell ya something Waldo...Venomous is putting it mildly.

I'm 40 years old, married, mom of two and have NEVER in my life filed a dispute with my CC company over a product or an issue. EVER. I do not abuse, take for granted, cheat, lie or steal to recoup monies I paid because of "Buyers Remorse" and yes I am offended and the mere suggestion from you that I will just "file my claim" and commit credit card fraud or some other type of "deception". I have already e-mailed them and will anxiously wait for a kind response that they will replace this defective part.

I work hard for my money Waldo, 65+ hours a week, managing to run $10m a year through my office efficiently and effectively. I am not stupid.

Not everyone is the same in this world, just because you are jaded or have been wronged multiple times over (and I say that because of your anger) doesn't give you the right to use me as your personal soapbox.

Ok then, try this.

It may be that while you are carrying your ecig around that the battery is turning on and off thus killing the battery and burning out your atomizer and burning up your juice.

After a full charge and when you are done vaping, take the atomizer/cart off the battery and then place in your purse. Note: place cart caps back on so that liquid does not spill all over the place.

Sometimes these batteries when they are around areas with loud noise or music turn on. Each time it turns on (if it is the case) it runs the battery down, burns out your atomizer and burns up the juice in your carts.

If all else fails, keep trying to reach out to SE to get the address to return the batteries for an exchange.

Another piece of advise is to drain your atomizers each night. Using a piece of toilet tissue, stand them upside down and let them drain. If they get clogged up, that can affect the performance.

Just to make sure that the switch in the battery is not getting stuck, stand them upside down as well over night being that sometimes juice can get in there and make the switches get stuck.

On a last note, I think dumwaldow is trying to apologize to you. Sometimes we as people can get easily offended and other times people tend to type faster than they think. Let's try to cool down abit. :D

Seems to me on his last post that he did not mean it to sound the way it was written.

We are all here to help you so, let's see what we can do as a community to resolve your issues and make sure you never go back to the analogs.

btw, as far as a smaller e-cig. Yes there are smaller ones out there but they do have their issues also.

Although I enjoy my SE Gold, I have found myself using more and more my Vapor King sold by Vapor4life - Steve, from Chicago. It is a 2 piece design, great taste, great vapor, great battery life, great everything!! It is also LOW maintenance and although the carts are "disposables", many of us have had success refilling them and it is very easy to do that as well.

If you are in the market for a different model, you might want to do research on the vapor king and see for yourself.

ouch...

I said I was sorry but I threw in a bunch of extra words after it so I will try it one more time in a less verbose manner.

sorry

I really appreciate all of your help, thank you. I will try all with the SE, as you stated above.

My goal was to stop smoking analogs. When I saw this thing...I was literally in awe... My husband has never even so much as tried a cigarette (never wanted to) and even he was impressed (he did not try, but allowed me to blow "smoke" in his face). Said he would buy me whatever I wanted if it meant not actually lighting one. :D

I can locate Steve in a Vendor/Supplier forum? No need to supply a link, I do not want to appear as if I am web illiterate as well.

I do not know Waldo, therefore I will leave your comment regarding him alone. I came to this site looking for answers, help, suggestions and whatever else I could find. Not to picked on by a Senior Member/Moderator...whatever Waldo is. I am not in the habit of arguing with strangers and doing so on the Internet is absurd, to say the least. I do not alllow people like him to affect who I am/how I feel about myself as a person. I am only embarassed that I allowed myself to behave in the manner that he did.

Thank you again for your help and kind words.

It is all good.

Written words lack inflection and don't always seem to carry messages the way I intend them to come across.

DW

BTW
that part about your husband said he would buy you whatever you wanted if it meant not actually lighting one...

Try and get him to say that into a tape recorder because in about two months he might be singing another tune. These things are like potato chips, it is hard to stop after just one.

It's probably redundant to say by now, but what the heck. I, too, entered the world of e-cigs with a SE GOLDone (RN4081) prior to ejumacating myself here and I felt like a chump when I saw the difference in price between my $130 one-battery "starter kit". It was indeed an impulse buy, and I felt the hit go straight through my wallet and smack me sharply on the .... Ah well, live and learn.

As for the cig itself, I've had nothing but good experiences with it. The model itself isn't bad-- just a matter of seperating the product from the price. I got about 5-7 cigs worth from each cart and it became clear I had to get some liquid for economic reasons. I learned about dripping, and now do that almost exclusively. The only time I use a cart is on my commute to work (1.5 hours one way) so's I don't kill myself or others while frantically refilling the atomizer at 75 MPH :D

I've since graduated to a DS901 and now use it as my primary. My 4081 serves as a backup if I ever find myself out and about and both of my 901 batteries die on me.

Anyway, don't be too hard on yourself. That SE will pay for itself once you get into refilling your own carts and/or dripping. It'll just take longer. And by all means, use that 1 year warranty for all it's worth.

Welcome to your new addiction. ;)

my first e-cig was bought from smoking everywhere at the mall. not a bad for a first PV but way overpriced. being the fast talking city boy that I am i got mine for 70 flat with the clasp case =] i told him that i saw one on craigslist list for 60 and that i was just gonna buy from there after i left the mall. little did he know ive never seen let alone heard of an electric cigarette before him. I found this website the same night, a week later i felt like a e-cig pro and was a proud owner of a 510

i went back to the stand a couple of days ago and flossed my titan to the crowd watching the demonstration and totally stole his the SE employees shine. the workers of smoking everywhere know nothing about vaping beyond their kiosk...

I have a DSE901 and already 2 atomizers have died on me.Does anyone know where to get these cheap? I have a feeling I'm going to be buying alot!!!

I've been vaping since mid February using the 901 for the first month and the screwdriver (901 atty) since then and have never had an atomizer die on me. Have you tried cleaning your atomizers? I clean mine about once a week. This might help. I have bought atomizers from these two suppliers with good results:

www.eastmall.net

www.myvaporstore.com

Good Luck

How do you recommend cleaning,I haven't ever cleaned mine and that might be the problem.I have let them sit over night on a paper towel and drain. It's just people have all these wacky ways of cleaning and I'm the type that if it is too hard I just wont do it.

First, I vape three different flavors during a day and I change the atty when I change the juice. The one I take off I put on a tissue and take one of those cans of air and blow it out through the hole with that. When I clean them, I use Brew Rite coffee machine cleaner, letting them soak in that for about 3-4 hours, then rinse them in boiling water. When you go to use them again, put a couple of drops of juice on the coil the first time you vape a clean one.

Although one of the techie modders had a theory that makes more sense to me. Those of us who use manual switch PV's with the bigger batteries such as the Screwdriver, consistently heat up the atomizer coil much more than those who use the 901 type auto switch PV's. The higher heat evaporates the juice more thoroughly and thus limits the gunk that builds up on the coil and kills the atty by breaking the wire connection. It's the gunk build up that kills attys.

Get yourself an SD and vaping becomes almost hassle free and much less expensive due to the very low cost of the batteries.
