Hi, I just signed up for the forum tonight. Just moved to Monterey, CA a few months ago to attend the Naval Postgraduate School, been in the Navy for a little over 5 years.

I've been reading a bunch of threads over that past few days so figured I might as well sign up. Just got a starter kit last week, eGo-C Twist and Kanger T3. I've smoked about 10 cigarettes (Reds) since the kit showed up in the mail last week, usually would've smoked that in one day. Loving it so far for sure, just ordered a Vamo V5 with a Protank 3.

Other hobbies: cars, motorcycles, beer, graffiti, guitar, music (punk, hardcore, metal mostly but also some hip hop and electronic stuff), computers, video games (BF4), electronics, and cooking...guess that's pretty much it.

Looking forward to learning a ton about vaping.

Thanks for the welcomes. I'm down to 4 cigarettes left in the last pack I plan on buying!

Wow, that's a lot of hobbies, your bank gonna break adding vaping to your new hobby I believe. Congrats!!
Hah yea, my wallet just took a hit with the whole Black Friday sale. Getting a couple 144Hz monitors in the mail tomorrow.

Welcome to ECF! Everything you need to know is here and there are good people who will answer all your questions.

After a while you will want something with longer battery life. Don't rush into it. Read and absorb and make your choice once you have listened to everyone's comments about the mod you are considering.

The eGo and the T3 are good starter choices and we all need a backup. The eGo is a good ecig for that. Variable voltage/wattage is the way to go for you to be able to tailor the vape to your liking. It's like having a volume control for your vapor.

Thanks again! I haven't smoked a regular cig in over two weeks at least now. I haven't been keeping exact track of it but it has been at least two weeks if not closer to three. I have since purchased a Vamo V5 but am having issues with it. It either doesn't vape (I get some flavor but never any vapor) or it says low load depending on if I have the air control valve installed. I'm just now testing the iClear30 on the battery I got with my startup kit and it works just fine, so it hast to be the Vamo.

I like the saying I picked up here when I was a newbie: Don't count the ones you smoke, count the ones you don't.

I didn't stop smoking all at once either. Not all of us do. I slowed way down immediately then just sort of "drifted down" until this week came where I actually could not remember if I'd had a cig that week at all. I was actually forgetting to bother with smoking. It was a weird moment but a good one.

Then the fun day came when I got this big batch of new juices to try and needed some cabinet space. And without any hesitation, started throwing away ashtrays and lighters and such.

30+ years of smoking and I mean powerfully addicted (I seem to have a whopper of a nicotine addiction) but there I was casually tossing smoking stuff in the trash because it was in the way.

Thanks everyone! Great forum so far, everyone is very helpful.

Also, since I posted, I think it's been a little over two weeks since I've smoked a cigarette!

mkbilbo - Yea, I kinda mixed them together until I ran out of cigs. Slowly I enjoyed them less and less, even after a big meal. That used to be my favorite smoke of the day, right after dinner.
