In any case, it's hard to judge how much liquid someone will use - the average around here seems to be 2-5ml per day. Higher nicotine levels will satisfy your cravings more easily, and you might not be tempted to reach for the ecig as often as you would otherwise... but at first, you'll probably use it more than you expect. It's a fun little toy...

No worries. Just starting out, even if you only got 10ml plus the carts, you should be able to get at least a few days to a week and a half out of that, depending on how much you like it (and how many carts you got). Some people still supplement with analogs (though most find them disgusting to taste/smell after only a few days with a PV), some vape crazy amounts of high-test stuff (36-48mg) all day with 5V mods. You never know, but you'll probably know if you're satisfied with what you have in about a day or 2. If you're not, you're starting off with a mid-low mg/ml so you have plenty of room to move up and figure out how much you'll need. What kind of cigs did you smoke, and how many/day?

The extra money you spent will be made up pretty quick if you don't keep smoking analogs as well.

I'm in the same boat as you coralie. Just made my first purchase and hoping my gear arrives Friday or Saturday at the latest. But I also bought an extra 10mg with my kit. Then I got another flavor from another site right after that when I purchased a few xtra atty's.
But I kind of hate the thought of buying a 20 or 30 ML bottle of juice, and then finding out I don't like it. So I also went to Vermont Vapor which has $3 sample bottles of all their flavors. You can try 4 or 5 different flavors for only about $20 after the shipping. The samples are 3 ML each and are only in 20mg nic strength. Seems like a good way to try flavors out before really investing in larger amounts. I tried 4.

Congrats! I'm the opposite of Ez Duzit, I would rather save money and get a big bottle of something that I am pretty sure that I would like rather than to buy something smaller and less economical and pay shipping on something else. I knew that I would probably like the Cappuccino, and I do, so I was happy. Though it wouldn't matter to me, since I am poor and am darn well going to use anything that I pay for! Next up is Cinnamon, which I looooove the taste of, and am sure that I will like.

Ez, mine says it should take 2-3 days shipping, so hoping mine is here by the weekend too. I'm so tired of analogs.I was thinking about doing a sampler pack too, but didn't see one on vaporstix and I'm sure if I like my kit, I'll be ordering more stuff from other places soon.

Jerseygirl, the kit comes with 5 cartridges, I got an additional 5 carts and a 15 ml bottle of 14mg juice. I know it's lower than some get starting out. We'll see.

Applejackson, I smoke marlboro menthol lights now. I don't know what a conversion would be exactly? So I took a guess. Probably 10-15 cigarettes a day. I can tell I'm smoking too much--super-vivid dreams and my throat is sore for a couple days. I know I'm smoking more cause school's starting and I don't smoke at work. Whenever I know I won't be able to smoke as much, I load up for a while. I always regret that, throat sick and earaches. So ready to leave at least some of that behind.

14mg juice sounds like a good place to start for you.

I smoked 20-30 menthol lights per day, and 18mg works well for me, so 14mg will probably be okay for you. If not, you can always get more juice in the same flavor, different strength, and mix together for a better ratio.

15ml is a good amount of juice to start with - you'll have enough time to decide whether ecigs are right for you, order more juice, and then wait impatiently for it to arrive...

If only 10-15 menthol lights are too much for you, then you've got plenty of supplies to last you long enough to figure out what tweaks you want to make (higher/lower mg, amounts, carts vs. filling, etc.) before you need to make another order. I'd say you get 2 weeks at least.

I was smoking about a pack a day, and I seem to be only going thru about 10ml every 2 1/2 weeks or so. I keep seeing this 3ml a day as average and just think sheesh, it really feels to me like I vape quite a bit, but maybe not?

My guess is that, as an "average," that number is probably a bit inflated.

The folks on this forum probably don't represent an accurate cross-section of the total population of ecig-users. Aside from newbies, the people here tend to be more heavily invested in vaping as a hobby, not just a way to quit smoking. So I'd guess that our usage is going to be relatively high, compared to the folks who are less obsessed with vaping, and don't feel the need to visit this forum.

That said - my eyes bug out at some of the quantities the folks here consume in a day. To go through that much, I'd have to be drinking my juice, or vaping in my sleep, or have my passthrough surgically implanted in my mouth...

I have seen some posts in the last two days that show people using what seems to be an exorbitant amount of nicotine... I'm hoping 14 mg is a good starting place and I can go down from there. Jbugz, I was thinking maybe I did my math all wrong... and maybe I'd end up spending a TON on e-cig supplies. Thanks for letting me know that there are people out there who don't go thru that much in a day/week/month. I just wanna save some cash, and stop feeling like crap, without giving up my one goody-two-shoes rebellion.

Amen for being cheap, though I like to say "thrifty"! I'm more cheap now because I don't have money, but even when I did have like $1k sitting in the bank all of the time, I still was thrifty about what I bought. Always tried to get the best deals, bought the cheaper brand of groceries, looked at unit prices for bigger portions of things at the store- all of that.
