FU!!!!(

Was just mixing 200 ml of sweet strawberry.

And ruined the whole batch with 40 ml of emaltol.

I guess I need to pay more attention to my labeling.

Btw I've been diying for a year so I'm not a newb.

25%em and 12% straw prob would be a lil nasty. Not to mention weak in the nice dept.

SUH WEEEEEEEEEET! LOL

'least it wasn't 25% 100mg nic.

I always mix all my nic first, in a graduated cylinder, then check it off on a preprinted recipe slip ( one slip for each batch of whatever I am mixing at the time) then put all the nicotine away safely in it's originating vessel.

This means:

A) I know I've completed mixing the hazardous stuff during that session so there is no possibility of double dosing the nic. This is most important.

B) I can take off the extra safety equipment if I feel like it (face mask, goggles, gloves)

C) I can put the nicotine laced syringes and tips in the first bath of soap and warm water, assuring that all the equipment I am using at that stage is neutral non-toxic. The only nicotine is capped away safely in either the grad cylinder or final bottle.

It's a bit serious as far as being safe goes but I always say "I plan on living for precisely as long as I want, so far so good" :)

Ah, I knew there was a reason that the bottle I use for nicotine at the mixing table is completely unlike any of my other bottles...

AND, that nicotine bottle is returned to its remote location each and every time it's used and not allowed to hang around. At the risk of sounding (and being) preachy, some errors are acceptable and some are not.
Sermon over.

Let this be a lesson to all of us not to get into bad habits:) Brave of you to post this but a great reminder that we are playing with some strong stuff here and when it comes to nic ratios, there is a level of concentration and safety measures that need to be taken.

In fact, one of the reasons I started mixing my own juice is the rumor that some people are in their second bedroom, whipping up juice for sale. Do I know these people? Do I trust that they are sober and have a process in place to make sure they aren't messing up? I really don't. I do think there are a number of trustworthy juice sites but I would rather make my own and be certain that I am getting the nic level that I want.

I concentrate, print out the recipe and do nothing else while I put in the nic. I reseal the nic bottle and then do the PG and then the VG. It all gets washed up and put away. I take the gloves off. Then I make my flavors:)

Thanks for all the replies. The sermons and safety talk is exactly what I wanted to hear.

This could've gone very wrong very fast.
Yesterday I broke down 1000ml of 100mg. I think we tend to get a bit lazy when we have been mixing for a while.
It sucks you had toxic waste, that why I bust my nic down to 50mg before putting in the freezer. Over nic could kill you!
of course this is my :2c:

I follow a procedure almost exactly like yours. I place everything in order, and not only do I reseal, I remove that item from reach as soon as I have carefully measured that ingredient, according to my printout.

In medical training we were taught 1) ck the bottle
2) draw up and ck doseage
3) ck the bottle

Or if you know other vapors close to you or friends that do it makes a nice gift better then tossing it, I know I know you would say maybe that I wouldnt want to waste that much Nic on my own dime just keep the Nic level low or even even 0% being that NIC is the most expensive ingriedeant in DIY sorry logged into say that I dont know why made me think of a gift when I can never come up with any for some people.
