Just ordered 1 gallon each of PG & VG

I gotta admit, I'm really getting caught up this stuff.

While I could easily go ahead and order from various juice suppliers, I've decided to experiment with making my own. It's for various reasons, but the biggest one being I can control exactly what's in it, and I'm more interested in creating a natural product as I can (ie: natural, organic flavours).

I ordered 1 Gallon each:
- PG is USP, food grade, Kosher, 99.9% pure
- VG is USP, food grade, 99.7% pure

So... how much juice can I make with 2 gallons?

Ah well, gives me plenty to experiment with.

I think I got a good deal... I found some Glycerin at almost 1/2 price, but I'm trying to be really careful where I get this stuff from. I don't want to take the chance of getting less than pure ingredients.

It cost me $85 shipped for the two of them.

Nicotine on the other hand.. dunno where to find that, but I think it's probably pretty expensive. The only real limitation I can foresee is the flavouring. I don't imagine there are many natural organic flavours available. I can only think of, off the top of my head, mint, vanilla, citrus....

Time for more research! weeeeeee....

edit: huh, more flavours than i thought there'd be... cool!

Wow that's alot. Theres a guy supertkr or something another that sells unflavored nic juice...it will be in the buying/selling forum...check the suppliers thread. His juice is fantastic, clear and great prices.

You can always sell some of those off...say in 60/125 mg or 8 oz bottles if you need be. I'm not sure of the shelf life of either.

Try capella's flavoring drops. They are very tasty and reasonably priced.

You can get 100 mg / ml of unflavored nicotine juice from myfreedomsmokes (clear and good). I would wait until Chris has one of his 50% off sales on his unflavored nic-juice. It seems he has them somewhat frequently.

I agree with this for nic juice. I have bought from a few different places and Chris' stuff is still the best.

If I am not mistaken, he is about to have another sale this week.

Yeah, I actually had that store open in another tab.. The only thing was they didn't offer any details on the grade, or an analysis sheet. I couldve saved myself some money, but I spent a bit more for the reassurance I was getting as pure a product as I could. Who knows, maybe they're just as good. It'd be nice if they did have that info available though.

That is a lot of PG. I would never use that much compared to the nic I have on hand. I bought 60 ml of 100 mg. from classfied but the bottle had xtremevaping on it for 63.00

You asked.....
With two gallons using both PG and VG, and 100mg unflavored nic juice
You could make 7885ml of 18mg nic juice with 10% flavoring.

i.e.
Base PG Nic - 100mg
Target PG Nic - 18mg
Amount to be made for recipe - 7885ml
Water/Vodka/PGA - 20%
VG - 20%
Flavor - 10%

PG with nicotine - 1419.30ml
PG (no nicotine) - 3784.80ml
Water/Vodka/PGA - 315.40ml
VG - 1577.00ml
Flavoring(s) - 788.50ml


Notice your maximum PG is 3784.8, 1 gallon = 3785ml, you would use all the PG up BUT you would not use up all the VG, BUT you would need 1419.3ml of 100mg nic juice and 788.5ml of flavoring, and 315.4ml of distilled water.

So 7885/3785 = 2.083 Gallons of flavored 18mg nic juice at 20% VG and 80% PG.

The lower the mg nic juice the more of it you need to use, but the less PG you would use, so it is a trade off.

Hard to beat this deal, and yes absolutely Chris makes excellent clean, clear juice. If you are new to DIY, I would not get 100 mg to start with though, at least until you know how to handle the stuff. Try 100 mL or less of 48 mg or lower to start with. That way you won't hurt yourself when you get it on you...because you most likely will. If and when you want to get enough to stock up, I have some tips in the Smoke Juice Storage thread for how I process high-nic juice into smaller bottles for syringe dispensing. You really do need to treat very-high nic juice with respect. It can hurt you.

there are lots of places here to get nic juice though...in fact most sell either their mix, or Chinese juice (Dakang). I prefer either Chris's or vtvapor 35 mg VG unflavored, which is $100 for 250 mL. If you get a lot, it is a good idea to put it into several smaller bottles (glass) and then take from those, to not cross contaminate.

Oh, and it will take you years to go through all that PG and VG, if it doesn't spoil first. Good storage methods are a must. Good luck, and let us know how it goes! Vape on!

I find I'm much more willing to experiment when I am not worried about wasting a limited quantity of something. It might be a good idea to refrigerate it if you can spare the space.

I don't think it is known for sure. Expiration dates often are just there to get you to buy more, and not much will grow in VG. However, cold will help slow whatever might happen down. One can freeze it as well. Since VG will likely never be illegal, I buy small amounts for what I need and then just use it. My 100 mg VG from MFS, however, is carefully rebottled in 50 mL amber glass bottles and stored for the winter months in my cold room, which is unheated and at about 35 deg F today. When it warms up I will likely move that stash to the freezer, and then take from it one bottle at a time. Details are in the MFS forum, under the Smoke Juice Storage Tips thread (sticky). I just added the full procedure of how I processed 500 mL of this juice safely for very long term storage. Of course the same procedure would be applicable to storage of PG juice. Enjoy!

I'm not getting what this means, linlorra. Do you mean you have higher-nic juice and you are mixing it down to to 30 mg? Sorry, not following.
