Well I started vaping after quitting analogues on thursday so I picked up one of those ego c4 blister packs. Well it worked well up until this morning when I was having a relaxing vape then, the coil stopped firing. I quickly checked the connection (no leaks) so I did the trick with the pliers to bring the connecting pillar up but no joy :( firing the battery there is no glow coming from the coil so I assume this cheapo device is kaput! Tried everything so I've retired it.

I went to myepack and looked through the list of products and settled on a EVOD mini protank 2 kit for just £19.99 (down from £25.99). I've noticed all the replacement parts (coils and batteries) are quite cheap and I've heard a lot of people mentioning them on here. I've now have to go 'cold turkey' until it arrives (determined not to go the easy option and pick up some stinkies until then).

So just wondered - have I ordered a decent bit of kit? If so what are you thoughts about this?

No mate, terrible. :) (little joke...)

I only bought 3 of the old one, then they sold out. (LOL..)

myepack are great for replacement heads too. Don't throw your old battery out, it'll probably work still.

How are you fixed for e-liquids? I've vaped a good few of those Dekangs (both from myepack and JacVapour). I've given up on the fruit ones, but menthol and tobacco are good, IF you like Chinese liquids.

I'm currently using an ecig from myepack (KR808D-1 V1 PCC) for a review. I've also bought/tried every clearomiser on there, apart from the new Innokin iClear30B

Any help needed? give us a nod.

I'm up the other end to you, on the border Shrops/Powys.

The miniprotank 2 is really good starter tank. The batteries that come with these kits are usually pretty junk though.

I suspect that it was the coil on the tank you had before that went kaput, you will be able to check that by trying that battery on the new tank.

One recommendation I can give is to not charge the batteries constantly. Now that you have two batteries, use one until completely dead then swap to the freshly charged other one. Only recharge when completely dead, this will lengthen the life of your batteries significantly.

If you find that the battery indeed did die, then I recommend getting a vision spinner, they are probably the best starter batteries available.

I can't emphasize enough how important it is to keep vaping simple if you have have just started vaping and are trying to quit smoking at the same time. A simple refillable cartomizer is a great way to start. This is especially important to vapers who buy all of their gear online.

You can always move up to more complicated gear later once your basic set-up is up and running. Having a vaping shop nearby can be a big help if they are willing to take the time to help you use the more fussy gear.

I started out ordering an EVOD kit with regular EVOD tanks and loved it. After a few weeks I hopped to a Protank Mini 2 and couldn't go back - I find I get a much better vape out of it than the EVOD tanks and cleaning them is a breeze and I've yet to have a flavor stick after a quick clean. I've read about some people being unhappy about their Protanks and such leaking but I've yet to ever encounter that issue in the 2 that I own.

I'd agree with the idea of keeping it simple though. Starting with a nice basic setup and slowly acquiring pieces as you need them / want to try them is the way to go. If you have a local vape store by you, you can usually go in and try out some different tanks and such and really get a feel for what you'd like to buy next.

Thanks once again fellas! The local vape shop is a fairly rubbish one that deals in blister packs and ego type kits. The liquid is mostly chinese too so I'd rather order stuff online, although the shop does sell Dekang juice (which I am not fussed on).

I think the reason I ordered it as it looks reliable and has plenty of replaceable parts which are not expensive. One day I'll move on to mods, but I am going gently and learning as much as I can.

Roll on midweek - I'll post an update on how I am getting on with it then!

It's interesting. I've owned more or less everything that has come out in the last 18 months (clearomisers). I even had my name down for pre-order of Protank 1. I find the minis totally reliable. (I think there are 4 in the attic/vaporium).
My thing with the original Evods only lasted two months.
I lose a bit of flavour with the minis now and again, but nothing too bad.
Last few weeks, I've mostly been using a T3S (for tobaccos) actually. Like an evod, only better i.m.o.

What problems did you have with the original Evods mate?

Any tips on how to survive cold turkey? I was tempted to walk into Swansea on my lunch hour and grab another Ego but I loathe to spend another £12 on something that's only going to be used for 2 days or so.

By evods, I mean the evod clearomiser. No problems really, just had trouble filling them, seeing how much liquid was left, stuff like that.
One of them was leaky...but that was a 1-off. (I had 4 or 5 at one point).

Have you got a Morrisons in Swansea? They do jasper and jasper disposable £2.29. Bit of a parsnip (not great flavour) vape, but might see you through. Is there a bricks and mortar vaping shop? Maybe you could buy a cheap clearomiser (CE4?) if your battery is alive....it's more likely your blister pack clearo is dead than the battery.

Or

The Smoker's Angel
249 Oxford Street,
Swansea,
SA1 3BL

They (Smoker's Angel) are not exactly my first choice, but they might sell Aspire BDC (or Vivi Nova). You could take your battery in and see? Is there a TW shop?

Thanks mate - yes we have a Morrisons. I'll pop in there on the way home tomorrow.

Yeah I saw that shop mate and it's always full of people queuing and by the time I get into town from the marina I'll be short on time. It's ok though I'll see if I can pick up a jasper to see me through the day. The battery is now deffo kaput. I pulled the post up and the wire connecting it snapped. Oops!!

The stuff from myepack should leave tomorrow and get to you Tues or Weds.

Shame about the battery. I could send you one, but it's not going to be faster.

The Jasper isn't great, but it might see you through. I bought a few (mostly for my missus) and think I've got 100+ puffs. Better than the poundland one, which is flippin' terrible. Somewhere must have some cheap e-cig gear? Homebargains? Asda were rumoured to sell eGos, but I never found one.

To be honest, if it was me, I'd just smoke.

(no issues here on that one....) then again, I've been vaping long enough to know I'm never going back.

I just emptied a 36mg out of my pro tank as it was caramel cappuccino from paradise vapes and it was too sickly. Strong throat hit but the taste was too much. Cleaned out and dry burned and now vapng arctic ice from vape escape which is 12mg and a real cool vape. Like vaping those airwaves chewing gums or mentos, slightly menthol and really refreshing. If anyone wants the cappuccino liquid, pm me and I'll give it to you for nothing. Wanted to try a strong one to see what it was like and it wasn't for me, I like fruit or mint flavours, a bit sick of the fizzy trifle as well but I'll keep that one!
