Just ordered a stingray clone from fasttech and would like to know what kind of bat I should use and what a good RDA to start with is. I know all the terms, I've done some research, but I trust a bunch of opinions more than a narrow view. Also, I'm not new to vaping, just pretty casual about it and wanting to step up from an eGo bat and a Protank 2.

This is the exact mod I ordered: fasttech.com/p/1632200

Not allowed to post links so I guess just copy + paste it and let me know what you guys think is best for someone new to mech mods. Thanks, you're the best :D

Hello and welcome to the forum. Glad to have you here!:)

Are you familiar with battery safety, ohms law and amp limitations?

Need a ohm meter, if you have a mod with one already, that will get ya by. Be very cautious of the stingray clone switches, their tolerances are crap, and often magnets are weak. The rice pin is to small and can lock in firing mode. The Fatdaddy upgrades help out a lot, but the switch can be troublesome.

Batts, 18650 IMR, high drain, 30 amp continuous, or better.

Love my authentic Stingray, tis one of the best, clone sting, not so much.

Hi again:

Check these out by baditude. Real good stuff:

Be sure to study them carefully in all their detail. Maybe a lot to take in I know, but the goal should be to become a battery safety expert.

After that, work on all the other stuff. But the above first.

Enjoy [emoji4]

The Sony batteries are good. I buy them from RTD Vapor. A trusted source. Get some battery boxes as well.
I am loving my new Magma clone RDA by Infinite. Super easy to build and wick. And once I get better at it I can run dual coils on it instead of a single. Get a wide bore tip for it.Lots of flavor and vapor!
Listen to the other posters in this thread. They are looking out for your safety. Test your batteries, and have extra on hand that are safely charged.
Good luck & Welcome to ECF!

Kinda wish you had checked here first... a good RBA on an MVP 2 would have been a better step than going straight from eGo batts to mechanical... a regulated device is a better/safer way to get aquainted with rebuildables... just be safe and do your research, CJ... we'll be here to help you, so if you have any questions or doubts, come here and ask before you hit the fire switch on your mod, okay? Just want you to be safe and careful...
