Looks like a nice order and welcome to the exciting world of DIY. OSDIY is a great supplier and they have always provided me with stellar service. I would get a calculator, there are several good ones and everyone has their favorite. For me I use this one:

I've never used a cylinder. When starting out, you want to make small batches. Remember that they may take a week or so for the flavors to develop - especially your tobaccos.

I recommend you get tons of syringes. Keep a 3ml syringe designated for PG, one for Nic, one for VG. Then get several 1ml syringes for measuring your flavors.

Until you get your recipe down pat (always take notes so you can make it again), make 3 ml batches in a 5ml bottle. That way, you have room to make alterations if you don't like your juice after it steeps.

Can you tell me where to get the syringes? 18 gauge for PG and 14 for VG? What gauge for the flavor concentrate? I'm (very!) new to this. I was just picking up a couple at onestopdiyshop but you suggest having a lot on hand. Thanks, in advance.

I learned everything I know from this forum - it's such a great resource!

I get mine from the Target pharmacist. Sometimes they make me pay $1.40 each, but most of the time, they are free.

You really do need the 18 gauge needle for the 3ml syringe. You do not need a needle (the 14 gauge) for the VG - just suck it up with the syringe only. No needles needed either for the 1ml flavor syringes.

Thank you for the advice so far! I realized after I placed my order that I should have bought a 10ml grad cylinder as well. I also should have ordered some pipettes -anyone know where I could find pipettes locally without having to order them online? I have syringes. BTW, any tips on keeping equipment clean??? -I don't want to vape germs into my lungs after all. And does anyone know how long the flavoring concentrates last as far as shelf life? -should I keep them in the fridge?

Try your local pharmacy or medical supply store.

Once I've cleaned my equipment with hot water, I then do a quick wipe/flush with alcohol before storage.

And does anyone know how long the flavoring concentrates last as far as shelf life? -should I keep them in the fridge?

Not sure... they don't hang around here long. I would for any extended storage time.

BTW, I'm envious of your list!

Just got my order in today! My husband has been wanting a lemon vape -so first I made 1ml of lemonade -fantastic! Next I made pralines-n-cream -delish! Then I made plum -good...different...might grow on me -I think it will be great mixed with some tobacco. That's all I had time for today. The flavor combo's seem endless. Can't wait to have some more free time to play!

It looks as though you are getting good advise, I posted only because I saw 1 recommendation I don't personally agree with. Do not rinse/clean any equipment in warm/hot water. You have no idea (maybe you do) how dirty the water gets going through the hot water heater, YUCK. At minimum to stay safe from germs/bacteria for DIY would be to buy yourself the cheapest bottle of vodka your local packy sells and rinse or soak thoroughly with that. If using tap water, use cold water. Please be aware that this is bare minimum and for DIY users only. Be safe, and of course, most importantly, have fun!
