Just ordered my first one from e-smokytreats

Hey all,

I just wanted to say that thanks for putting so much info on here. I subscribed to here a few days ago and have been researching a lot. It didnt take long to convince me to buy an e-cig so yesterday i ordered one from E-smokytreats. Heres the run down on what i ordered:

1-black mini 901 starter kit
5-blank cartriges
1-30ml of regular cig flavor liquid
1-30ml of strawberry flovor liquid

I just wanted to know if there is anything else i need other than that to get going. I know i probably will need a few more atomizers and batteries but the kit came with 2 atomizers and 2 batteries so does that mean that i will have two working e-cigs?

I know the batteries die fast and the atomizers can go out easily but he has 3 month warrenty so that seems pretty cool.

Also i need to review on the quality of the liquid but if someone woul like to comment on if they have tried the flavors i bought that would be good too. I dont remember what mg of nic. the liqid is but i will check and post later.

I cant wait for it to come in.

Phil did a great job getting my 901 to me. As far as eliquid is concerned, I really like puresmoker's riskee and cash cola. Those two flavors have a huge following on the forum. I started with 16 mg nic but had to up it to 24mg to be more similar to an analog. If you end up liking it, you might want to consider a usb passthru and a battery pack. The 901 batteries only last about 3 hours.

If I was you, I would go ahead with your instinct to buy more atomizers and batteries, ESPECIALLY if you are making a go of quiting analogs completely. With these things reliability can be a problem, and you never know when 2 batteries and atomizers go out on you in a blink of an eye, leaving you screwed. I know it is tempting to not spend any more money, but I would definitely recommend having at least 2 extra batteries and atomizers on hand.

Another recommendation is to not touch one of the atomizers that comes with the kit until the first one burns out. Just my 2 cents. Everyone has there own strategies.

Hey thanks for replying so quickly. I guess i should buy some more batteries and some atomizers but i will wait till the day that the e-cig comes in and then go from there.

Also i did a search on battery packs and i dont really know what they are. Are they something that i can buy or is it something that i make myself.

I ordered my first starter set from the same supplier and as far as I understand, the warranty covers any defective part for up tp 3 mos. If it should fail due to defect they will replace. At least that is how the warranty reads. I dont think it will be replaced from normal use. If you get back on the web site and click Warrenty Info it explains it. And when in doubt, contact them!
But so far, I love my 901!!! 2 weeks and kicking strong!!

I'll keep ya posted!! I am curious to see how long they last. I do keep mine clean by blowing it out and rinsing it out every few days, however. I do only use the one. I tested the other to be sure it worked, then cleaned it. I think you'll enjoy the 901.

Well it came in and it doesnt have a lot of vapor but works fine. I have read that it should break in in a few days and then it will have more. Is that true?

Also i put a tobacco flavored cart in and it really doesnt taste like tobacco. Is that usual?

As far as it goes it seems like the nicatrol inhaler and doesnt have a lot if any throat feel/hit. Im not sold on it as if i can swich over to the ecig only yet but will keep yall informed.

I charged the battery for 4 hours and im wondering if that is enough on the first charge. The green light came on at about 45 minutes but i have read to charge them longer. Let me know.

K - i wasn't overly impressed with my 901 straight out of the box.

It does get better (or it didfor me). The carts never really taste good, dripping and topping off is definitely the way to go. In fact if you put in a new cart i would put a drip or two onto the atomizer anyway.

You will get better at using it, figuring out how to draw on it etc etc.
The best way to draw on a 901 seems to be do a quick short primer puff to get the atomizer heated up, stop for second then take a longer draw and inhale that.

I'd say it probably took me a week to get anywhere near proficient with mine.
I quitthe analogs after 5 days, had a week back on them dueto money issues then been off them ever since.

Any questions you have come back and ask them.

It took me a day or two to get the hang of it. It isn't like 'tokin a smoke', there is a method to it! I did, however, try a Janty Dura cart in my 901. It fits nicely and the carts seem to last a lot longer than the 901 carts. They seem to hold more liquid. Got lots of vapor out of the Janty cart and I also like the fact the mouth piece is round and not 'formed' so to speak. For the past week I have been primarily using them without any problems. Always seem to get good vapor and a nice throat hit with each of the three different flavors I purchased.

Many users and sellers also say the first charge should be 8 hours. I've found that to work best for me.

I have a different opinion on the atomizers and think it's best to use two unless you are a very light vaper. Many atomizers (esp. 901) will get quite warm after several puffs and at that point you should stop and let it cool. If you can do that then one atomizer will suffice, otherwise it's best to switch up.

I agree that you need to charge the batteries 8 hours at the beginning. There also seems to be a breaking in period - about a day or two depending on how much you use it. One of my atomizers was bad from the beginning. Although several people have told me this might burn out your atomizer sooner, but if you hold your finger over the atomizer hole for just a second when you first take a puff, it heats up the atomizer a little more and you get a better throat hit. I will cover the hole for a second as I draw in and then take it off and continue to draw in. Also, I started with medium and low nic juice. When I changed to high, there seemed to be a better throat hit. I also got more hit with the liquid from puresmoker.

On the battery pack, you will need to purchase a usb passthrough, which replaces the battery and then buy an extended battery to plug the passthrough into. You will want a battery pack that has at least 1000 mA output (not capacity but output). The one that SunVapor swears by can be found at this ebay site:

UPDATE:

Well the e cig has gotten better. It produces a lot more vapor and the throat hit has gotten better but not great. I will keep trying to make this work and i think if i get a better liquid with a higher nic. then i will work but as for now i have 6 cartons of analogs and 60 ml of e liquid that i dont like too much and until i use them up i will just have to not buy any more liquid. (the wife is cracking the whip on our finances).

Well all here is an update...i lost my ecigg about a year ago and since then have been smoking analogs....i hate that i smoke and i am planning on getting another ecigg...

yall probably dont care but i left the ecigg in my suit and took it to the cleaners and they kept it i guess because it wasnt in it when i got the suit back...

I am new to the forum, only a couple of days. I used to to smoke a pack(or a little more) of Marb lights every day. Since getting my 510, I have had only 1 analog in 96 hours! (And that one was a complete disaster. Totally unenjoyable. Yuck...)

My goal, now that I have my first e-cig, is to quit analogs entirely. I know many of us have relapses, whether it be a one analog "mistake" or one year of analogs.... The key thing here is state of mind. I am determined to replace analogs with e-cigs. After only 96 hours: My nose is clearer, no stuffiness. I sleep more soundly. My wife, who smokes a little, is all for it. I got my friend and co-worker to try it(He got the same starter kit I did. We smoke analogs all the time, together, on our smoke breaks, so having us BOTH switch will be important to "staying on track"), even my boss(non-smoker) said, "Good for you!" Mind you, he had never heard of a PV until I told him.

Stick with it, this time. (Easy for me to say, I know) I, for one, am confident that with help of newer e-cig technology and more importantly, the support of this forum, I can dump the stanks for good.
