Just ordered my first

So I've been smoking about 11 years or so now, and just ordered a Joye 510 kit from AmericasBestBuys.com (saw 'em in the suppliers; hope they have a good rep). Looking forward to it.

I see that a lot of people say they start with the 510 and move to the eGo - but there seems to be a lot of conflicting information. Is the eGo a battery? An atomizer? An entire kit?

Welcome, and yes the basic difference with the 510 verses the Ego is the battery...I have an Ego (brand name) from Janty...The Ego battery is larger, stronger, and lasts a lot longer then a normal 510 battery...My wife has a 510, so I know...I bought the Ego kit when I first started, came with two batteries and attys, some juice, and a biggie, a quick battery charger, that is great....
But, seeing you already have most of your other stuff,,,,you would most likely only need to buy the battery, the atty cone-shape cover, and the battery charger...Your 510 charger will not work...
One final item...the TW Tornado is also the same as the Ego...battery wise...and seems to be in better supply then the Janty....But just check out the two sites and decide....Again, Welcome and of course Enjoy....

Congrats for starting at the top with a 510! You'll love it!

The Ego and Tornado is, as one supplier refers to it, 'our beloved 510 on steriods'. It's a longer lasting battery, (8-10 hours with moderate use as opposed to 1-2 hours with a regular 510). It also comes with a 'cone' that goes over the atomizer, which seems to bring out the flavor of the liquid even more.

You WILL be able to use the attys and carts you get with your 510 kit if you decide to 'upgrade' to the Ego.

:)

Welcome. I have both the 510 and the ego. They're the same thing except the eGo battery is bigger and you need and adapter to charge it (it's the same charger, just needs and adapter) the atty's and carts are the same (exactly) on both.

When I upgraded to the eGo I decided to buy a whole kit though (instead of just getting the battery and charger adapter) because I figured I'd want the spare atty's anyway. It does come with the cone to make the tapered look and control any leaking, but I don't even use mine. I like how it looks without it and I'd prefer to know if there's any leaking going on anyway.

Hi and welcome to the forum! You picked a great e-cig to start with. I am still using my original 510's that I started with. The Ego/Tornado is maily a better battery, I just ordered one myself and can't wait for it to come in so I can try it out! But with the Ego/Tornado you can still use the 510 atty's and/or carts if you want. I'm sure you'll enjoy the 510, and soon enough you'll be looking for bigger and better mods. Good Luck and happy vaping!

Hi everyone. I was exposed to vaping last weekend and it immediately appealed to me. I have been smoking 10+ years, and average a little under a pack a day. I, like the OP, decided on the Joye 510 to get started. I ordered from cignot, mostly because they offer a bundle that includes a PCC.

Now it's off to Alien Visions for some juice, and plenty of reading to prepare myself for the arrival of my 510. I'm off to find the "how to refill a cart" tutorial!

Cheers!

Good luck Kam! It's a learning curve, but it's a fun and, hopefully, TASTY one!!

I've been roaming around the forums here for a couple months, on and off, and finally decided to register a couple days ago. I was surprised at how responsive and helpful people here are!

Thanks for the info on the eGo. I'm hoping to get my 510 before next week, as I'm flying out on vacation and would love to have it before I go.

I'm looking forward to getting started on the e-cig trip - no one in my family smokes, but I did have a grandfather who smoked for years and succumbed to lung cancer about 10 years ago. Getting married in June, so I think it's best to go ahead and start looking at some alternatives.

Thanks for the help & encouragement,

John

I have been vaping for a couple of months and already have an arsenal of e cigs. For me it went something like this-

510 starter kit #1 -> 510 starter kit #2 (wife started vaping and needed more batteries and charger) -> eGo -> vp pt (5v is really nice and addictive lol) -> silver bullet with drip tips (portable high voltage with great battery life)

I don't want to add up what I have spent so far .
I really wish I would have started with a silver bullet at 3.7v and just upgraded batteries for higher voltage. I have really enjoyed vaping so far, its been wonderful.
