longer battery life, and fresh off the charger 4.2V in a slick, extremely classy housing makes the protege a great upgrade...but you may want to grab the protege usb extension for consistently higher voltage (great with a 510 by the way). but even the protege all by itself=sound investment! welcome, and happy vaping my creamy feathered friend!

Actually, the Protege is a step up in voltage. Standard 510 batteries put of about 3.1v (I dont know why), and the Protege uses a standard 3.7v supply so you will notice an even bigger difference. I read somewhere a poster was checking the voltage output on different c-cig batts - they all came in at 3.7v except for the 510's. Even the ego's run at 3.1 volts. I had a hard time believing this so I did a vape test at home with a 510 atty on a 901 batt (w/adapter) - sure enough, the hits are stronger (and more vaper) with the 901 battery than a 510.

I also have a protege and love it. You made a good choice. :thumb:

Well I got my Protege a few min ago and the batteries are charging - can't wait for them to be charged so I can try this thing out :)
I got mine today too, although a little earlier in the day. Hope you survive the wait for the batteries, I was checking every 5 minutes until they were good to go. The wait is definitely worth it!!!
