Hey all,

New to the forums… and vaping in general. I’ve been a smoker for about ten years and I just can’t quit. I love smoking. Decided to try out the healthier alternative and see if I can make the switch. The endgame here is to kick my nicotine dependence altogether.

I just ordered the starter kit from V2cigs… did I pick a gooder? Haha…

I started with V2 Ultimate kit and it did get me off analogs. It took over a week to get in my hands, even with 2 Day shipping. They were out of stock of the PCC and Carrying case which JUST got here today (I ordered on Jan 6th)!

V2 has a decent product, but they are slow to fulfill their orders. I personally will never do business with V2 again, however I am happy with -and still use- the equipment I got from them. And knowing the equipment is warrantied for a year is also nice.

I would look into Vapor4Life, Bloog MaxxFusions, or a KR808d-1 from LiteCigUsa.net.

I prefer the KR808d-1 models. Many here will recommend you 510 models (there are other, newer models too). Both work well.

Either way, congrats on getting into the e cig world. It's truly amazing and this forum will have all the info you could ever want!

Ya this forum has a ridiculous amount of info… ha. Shame my work PC is so friggin slow while navigating it.

I wish I knew about their back orders before taking the plunge. I was sick of wading through the incredible amount of companies that sell e-cigs. Is it possible to buy cartomizers from other companies, like V4L, or will they not work/fit?

And how do I know what model I just bought? I mean, it just says ”shorty” and “standard” on their website. I’d search, but seriously my work PC can’t handle this forum for some reason.

V2 only sells KR808d-1 batterys, so thats what you ordered. You can request what size (length) and color batt you get. I would suggest getting one manual and one auto so you can see what you like best. I prefer the XL batts because they last longer, but they are also pretty damn long. The standard one is more "cigarette" size

V4L cartomizers are FANTASTIC!! It's all I use (besides direct dripping occasionally). They work just fine on my V2 batts.

I buy blank (empty) V4L cartos and fill them manually with juice.

EDIT: Also, V2 was good on getting all that I needed as soon as possible. It was just the extra accessories that took soo long

V2 is a good model - KR808D-1 - they just charge too much for parts and have inventory issues. I use Vapor4Life.com (which is KR808D-1) as well as standard KR808D-1 stuff from VaporLeaf.com. LiteCigUSA.net and elsewhere.

I think V2 also doesn't offer manual batteries which is what most of us use and recommend.

V2 definitely offers manual batteries and passthroughs (unless they've changed stock since I ordered my V2 kit back in December, which is quite possible given the way V2 works ...).

Concat, assuming your V2 kit arrives in a decent amount of time and with all parts included and nothing breaks, it's more hassle than it's worth to try to return or cancel it. Keep it, and switch to V4L and others for cartos. V2's shipping and inventory tracking is just too hit-or-miss to rely on them to keep you stocked if you really intend to stay off analogs.

Also, it'd be a good idea to order more cartos (either pre-filled or blanks + juice) now, even though you don't have your kit yet. You will inevitably go through more cartos than you expect, and it's a terrible feeling to realize you're going to run out before your next shipment arrives. If you get lucky and V2 ships your order out immediately, you'll get your V4L carto order a day or two behind the V2 kit. More likely, you'll get your non-V2 cartos days or even weeks before you even get half of your V2 kit.

Oh ok great. I was worried that I was stuck ordering cartomizers from one place. Ha!

Yeah I already ordered one white short cig with a red LED. This was to keep the other smoker’s at bay and keep them from pestering me too much. The other one I ordered was their standard size, black with a blue LED. I chose this because I wanted at least one battery that is obviously not a real cigarette, should I want to puff somewhere public. I’ve NEVER seen anyone with an ecig, so I imagine busting one out in a mall will get a lot of dirty looks and security breathing down my neck.

I requested both to be manual batteries (they apparently do have them). I hear with the autos you have to prime it up with a few puffs before getting anything, and that you can sometimes get liquid in your mouth. I’d rather push a button and get vapor on my first drag.

Thanks very much for the help – hey do you have any flavor recommendations from V4L?

It should be ok. Just buy replacement parts, accessories and cartos wherever you want - you don't have to buy from V2 unless you want to pay 50-100% more to get their warranty. Note though - I think a couple of people may have had trouble with standard KR8 or Vapor4life cartos not all contacting their V2 battery well (or I may be thinking of a different named KR8).

And if you got auto batteries, be extremely careful about drips from cartomizers, and dripping with an atomizer is not recommended with auto batteries. I think refilling the cartos is actually a greater risk with autos since cartos are more likely to drip right onto the drag sensor of an auto battery.

BTW - a cartomizer does not really last as long as a pack of cigs. That's a typical "name" brand lie. However, if you keep the carto damp with juice, you can get days out of one. If you run it dry and singe the stuffing, then the flavor will be ruined for that carto. A V2 owner would know if the cartos are soft-cap. Soft-cap cartos are the easiest to add juice to. Vapor4Life prefilled and blank cartos are softcap and you can get soft-cap blanks elsewhere too. Lately I use a plastic or delrin KR808D-1 drip tip on the carto instead of the little soft cap. Easy to pull off for adding juice and keeps your lips cool even with a hot carto.

So turns out Canada doesn’t allow importing or the sale of e-cigs. Jesus I’m ignorant.

I contacted V2 Cigs and they say about 80% of their shipments make it through on the first try. If it doesn’t, they reship it once. They put “smoking cessation device” on the declaration form.

So where the heck should I get carts from? I’d post in the Canada forum, but I’m restricted as a new member. And how is it that there are Canadian websites offering e-cigs? Isn’t that illegal?

As a side note, I respect that Health Canada is concerned over quality control and nicotine overdose, but the regulation process is no doubt going to be grueling. Hell I don’t even mind so much if they make it a prescription drug delivery system, just expedite the process. Smoking is a huge issue in Canada and legislators are constantly trying to curb it due to the strain on public health care. Granted the taxes they get for each pack probably exceed the cost of health care… but I digress. Does anyone know any current progress regarding this? Are manufacturers currently working with Health Canada and/or legislators? Or have we come to a stalemate?

I heard a lot of good things about the V2 kits. I ordered the $150 Safe Cig kit and am regretting it. I went by ecigarettereviews.com when they said each Safe Cig cartomizer is worth 2 packs of analogs. I figured that since they're $2.50 a cart that it would be abour $1.25/pack. Damn was that a lie. Each Safe Cig cartomizer is only about 1 pack of analogs. I honestly think they lied because they get 20% comission. That means they got $30 from my order and I wish they didn't. I just thought I'd use their coupon code because they were helpful and I wanted them to get paid for it. If I knew they were lying to me I def woulda used someone else's. I wonder if that's why they don't want to give me my money back. I tried to get them to send me replacement batteries or refund my money within the 30 days, but they're ignoring me. It's kinda messed up. I thought they were supposed to be a good company with good customer support and stuff, but apparently not.
I hope you enjoy your kit. It's supposed to be one of the better ones. You get manual batteries? I'm not sure if they have automatic ones, but my fathers friend has a V2 and he was telling me that their manual batteries are the best. Aside from the fact that the manual batteries don't have flow sensors to go bad they also last a lot longer too.

Anyone know what voltage/amps V2 batteries run at? and what model of battery the new kits use now?

you obviously didnt read the very long thread on V2 recently posted here............

Yeah I was too excited about it that I didn't register onto the forum prior to ordering :/
As I understand it, they tend to have delays fulfilling orders, and they're a bit pricier due to their warranty? Other than that, there hardware is perfectly acceptable, right? I used a 15% off coupon btw.

Anyone know what voltage/amps V2 batteries run at? and what model of battery the new kits use now?

Their standard battery is 4.2 V and 250 maH if memory serves me right. I got the manual kind.

Re Canada - you have enough posts now so if it's been an hour since your 5th post you should be able to post in the Canada section. One Canada vendor I know of is Happy Vaper. And people in there would know which US juice vendors are good to buy from.

Happy Vapor doesn't sell liquid with nicotine. I don't think ANY Canadian distributers do. I just need to find an American supplier that has figured a way to beat customs I guess...
