I took one of my TRA's and did this to it. I was trying to find a way to get a wrinkle effect with spray paint instead of having to go through the whole powder coating process. I used red paint and black wrinkle paint spraying each color over the other about 4-5 times and this is what was born. I kinda like it. I may strip it down and do it again, this time with a little more patience but I think I can get a red wrinkle out of this.....

How about you try a fine sand paper wet sand now (something like a 1000 grit) so you get a two tone effect coming through and then once you get a nice effect shoot a clear coat over it ( I would finish it with a semi gloss or even a flat lacquer coat). Just a thought. Looks nice

I actually thought this. I'm probably going to paint it and strip it several times just to try out different techniques and finishes.

I'm not sure yet. I figured I could sand it back down or use some kind of paint remover. Since I did so many coats, I may even be able to peel it off.
Thoughts?

I'm just curious. I'm thinking of stripping one down and wondered what an effective technique would be. Sanding appears to be the favorite method, although one person used Scotch-brite pads.

I soaked mine in a bucket of paintsripping gel. got the rubber gloves out of the bedroom and used them to wire brush the bulk of the paint off in the gel.

then finished it with some steel wool. after that - polish / paint as desired.

for the hard work, I recommend getting a wife or small child to do the majority of it.
