Hello everyone, thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

I am new to this forum, but I have been experimenting in the world of vaping for about a year now. I started out using InLife's Regal model through a friend's dad who was selling them. It actually helped me quit smoking for about 2 months. I don't have to many complaints about their product other than the inconsistency of their cartridges. The batteries lasted a good 8-10 hours of solid puffing. Charging was easy, and I really enjoyed their standard flavor.

So anyway, last night I purchased a Joye 510 kit with two batteries (1 manual no LED, 1 auto blue LED)... I figured the manual no LED one would be good to take on the go since the battery will probably last longer... right? wrong?

I also purchased some cartomizers to replace the standard atomizer and cartridges the Joye 510 comes with.

My main question for all of you, is there anything I should know about the Joye 510's that I don't already know? For instance: special maintenance, mods, things to be careful about, filling techniques, good e-liquids? (I purchased a vanilla and apple flavor from High Caliber USA E-Liquids.

I'm really enthused for the kit and cartomizers to arrive so I can start vaping and toss out the old Parliaments I've been sucking down for years. Great forum we have here! Thanks again!

Sounds like you are doing good...

One thing I would mention is be carefull of putting a freshly filled cartomizer, or atty in an auto battery. If it leaks do to being over filled it can ruin an auto battery.

After I fill a cart, I like to let it sit on it's side for a few minutes. Then I put a paper towel over the battery end of the carto and give it a gental blow. This makes sure that no excess juice is pooled in the air way that could leak into the battery.

Also, besure to clean the battery connector every time you charge a battery. A Q-Tip with a flattened tip works great.

Avoid leaking juice on the auto battery

Battery charge life is short so think about buying a PCC so you can charge one battery in your pocket while using the other.

If you plan to use the carts then buy some precut blue foam stuffing for 510 at strictlyejuice.com (I think 75 cents for 10). When the cart stuffing starts to get worn and cranky, try replacing with the precut blue foam

With carts, always push on and pull off - do not twist
And try to line up the cart juice cup with the atty

Thanks for the info! @dormouse, the kit did come with the PCC so I am stoked about that... I have a question though, when you say do not twist the carts, are you referring to the standard carts that come with the kit, or the cartomizers? I bought some cartomizers that are supposed to be a one-piece design that you just fill with liquid and screw onto the battery.

@zoiDman - Thanks for the good advice!
@Rosa - :) looks messy though :[

Hey y'all, I too just started using the Joye 510, and except for the battery I AM LOVING IT. I only wish I had found out about this years ago. I haven't had to smoke in 7 days. This is absolutely amazing. I went from 3 packs a day to this. I just ordered the Joye 510xl should be getting it in a day or so, I ordered one for me, and one for the wife. She is going to have a go at it too.

I did the same as you ljmushock with some basic additions/omissions. My starting kit included some blue foam and in the interests of trying it I immediately changed a cart over to it. My biggest problem is that for ease of use I simply have no patience for the atom/cart setup. A few friends and myself agree though that the carts seem to produce better vapor but not enough to make them worthwhile.

Carto's are less messy, hold more, and don't seem to be that much larger of an expense. I've been rotating through three carto's at once. I underfill them I think because I don't want any mess whatsoever and I prefer the auto battery at the moment and fear breaking it as well. I've found that using the "condom" trick for refilling them works great and if you aren't filling them to the absolute max you can generally avoid any potential leaking problems.

This coming from a 2 week vet to the 510 though so grains of salt.
