Hey guys. I just quit smoking 2 days ago. I bought the relatively cheap Mistic starter and am semi happy with it. The throat hit is enough to make want to keep vaping instead of smoking WHEN the cartridge is newer...it says it will last several days, but I'm going thru 2 a day! Yikes...I don't know if I'm some kind of freak or if I just need a new system. I can't afford them at this rate. I'm seeing now that I probably should have purchased something else, but now I have this Mistic and I need some advice on how to make it economical. There is a vape shop about 20 miles from me...should I go and try to find another system ? Or is there a way I can save this battery and refill them? I don't have a lot of cash to spend on a system right now, and I really don't want to start smoking again. Can you guys give me some suggestions? I have tried to research, but I'm a little confused by all of the options. Please help !! Thanks.

On most of the cig-a-like carts one can pop the rubber tip off the top with a mini screwdriver or something, then drip about 20 drops into the poly fill around the stem, take care to not get any down the center tube, and allow time for the juice to soak in. But the carts will only be good for maybe 10 fills.

No you are not a freak and amount of vape time on carts are highly exaggerated. There is only like 20 drops of juice in each cart, so not much at all. The average vaper uses around 4 ml of juice a day, I vape more like 15 ml, but then I have advanced gear and vape at high watts, so go through more than most.

A good tank system may be what you want, something that is easily filled. Makes it more economical and produces better vape. Lots to choose from. Best thing to do, is check out the forum, see what vape is really all about, compare the different products and options, decide what best suits your needs and then get quality gear.

If what you have is currently keeping you off smokes, just try and find a tank that will fit, get some juice, and vape that while you take the time to see what the world of vape really has to offer, then make a decision from an informed and educated base. Other wise it is so easy to get this that and the other, and find you could of saved money and time if you would or bought quality device.

Welcome to the ECF, congrats on your vape, your found the right site to learn more!!

Vape long and Prosper!!!

I'm sure many folks will chime in here, but I'm another failed cigalike user. Definitely upgrade your kit, but fear not, you'll figure out how to integrate that system once you're into the good stuff. Cigalikes are great for trips around town, ultra stealth vaping and sampling flavors.

A variable voltage battery (with a backup) and a decent, reputable head or two is a good first start. I wish I'd skipped the step between VV and cigalikes, I knew better but still wanted to "save money." Buy once, cry once...or buy three times, cry three times like me. You figure it out. Still, I use them to this day and actually do appreciate having an accompaniment of batteries. You might have to try a few heads to find one you like, but the Kanger eVod's and Mini Pro-Tanks have been pretty solid for me...there's other good ones too.

You will still have ongoing expenses with whatever you choose. Whether it's atomizers, cartos, carto-tanks...all of them require ongoing purchases. If you're handy, you can research rebuilding coils and you can save some serious money with some systems by rebuilding your coils...getting your total ongoing down to almost just juice. Why one would be concerned? I don't know when you're giving up a $100-$300 a month habit. It's hard to take that leap before you've actually taken it...I get it.

I realize that backup gear is, well, twice as expensive...but what are you going to do when the system fails on you? I know what I'd do and it's not what I want to do. You can look at a passthrough device, which allows charging while you use it...that's maybe a step better, but redundancy in everything is still a good concept.

Best of luck and congrats on your progress so far! It's very encouraging...I wasn't even able to do as well as you on those cigalikes!
