So, my family is moving to Texas from the suburbs of Chicago, and I am moving to Chicago. The moving crew who is here smoke, and this morning when they showed up I couldnt even go into the room they were in, the smell was nauseating. I have a friends place that I go to quite often, and everyone smokes inside, but it doesnt bother me like this morning did. I have never realized how bad you smell after smoking in your car especially. I am so glad I made the change to e-cigs then PVs then APVs, lungs have been thanking me, and I dont smell like an ashtray, I may not quit vaping, but I sure as hell wont start smoking cigs again.
Just realized how bad smokers smell for the first time since i started smoking at the age of 15.

The smokers stench. I don't know what is worse, having to smell it after quitting. Or realizing you walked around smelling like that for years.
My stomach has been acting up and the stench literally made me want to puke. It didnt make me want a cig, but it made me think, ...., is that how i smelled back then?
I agree. My best friend from high school came over last night. Absolutely reeked. Glad I don't smell like that anymore.
It dose not bother me I dont think its pleasant, but it dose not turn my stomach or make me run the other direction ether.
usually doesnt bother me, but this morning was something awful. It smelled like they chain smoked an entire pack in their car on the way over, I had just woken up, and my stomach was already not feeling too good, kept me up till about 2am last night, so it was already acting up.
My oldest daughter and I went to the local pool hall to shoot a few racks of Snooker a few weeks ago.
When I got home, I couldn't believe that I walked around smelling like that for almost 35 years.
I don't begrudge smokers because I shared the same habit with them for so long. I'm just glad I quit.

Im that way with JD I drank a bunch when I was a kid made my self terrible sick to this day I cant smell it with out turning my stomach
You know, it's funny, I've always found (even when I smoked) the worst people to complain about the smell of smoking are ...ex-smokers. I can't help but wonder if there's some biological reaction going on where the smell is, literally, worse for ex-smokers than it is for non-smokers. I don't know, but I can smell a cigarette a mile away now and it's not a pleasant smell.
We have one guy at work - who I'm assuming is an ex-smoker - who goes bat-shizzle crazy if he so much as catches a whiff of smoking ...and he has absolutely no problem telling you about it. Every smoker in my entire building knows who he is and has had at least 1 run-in with him about it. Once, I came into the lab from smoking and threw my field-stripped .... into the trash can (figuring I was being environmentally-conscious by 'properly' disposing of my butts) ...from clear across the room, he smelled it and ripped into me like I'd just flung poo on him. He's just a little bit crazy about it.

Id have to find something about him and start making a big issue about it. These kinds of people get under my skin Who made him king of the world why dose everyone have to revolve around what he dose not like grow up and learn to live and let live!
I had a smoker sit next to me the other day while waiting for blood work on an empty stomach. I hadn't been THAT nauseous since I had morning sickness - it was terrible! Also, I know what you mean about the smell of JD - my first overindulgence was rum and coke and to this day the smell of rum makes me woozy!
I understand, when I turn on my AC I still smell it. It may have finally cleard itself out but I can relate
I can't believe how quickly I grew tired of the smell of cigarettes.. Definitely more sensitive to it now and notice it a lot quicker. Not missing out on much though.
I must agree that I stinks like heck! Can't believe I used to smell that way! It's amazing that I didn't know it! It doesn't make me sick but it serves as a reminder as to why ill never smoke again. But vaping on the other hand...ill probably do this for the rest of my life!!
Maybe he just can't be around the smell without being tempted???? I dunno.....
Went to my neighbor's house the other day and I knew they smoked on the porch because I could smell it when I would take the dog out, but didn't realize that the also smoked inside...it was a really unpleasant smell...It kind of hit me...that my car, clothes, hair, and breath had smelled like that for the better part of 15 years....I am so glad that it doesn't anymore. It also made me sad, that I had been hugging on my kids and I smelled that way....
