Another thing to consider is very often tobacco flavors need to steep. What that means is it needs to age. Take a whiff of the juice to see if you smell any alcohol or chemical/perfumey smell. If it does, let the bottle sit for a day or two with the top cap off to allow the alcohol to evaporate. Then recap it and give it a good shake. Put it away for a few days and try it again. You might be surprised that the flavor has changed for the better.

A second thing to consider is if you are just off of the smokes, your taste buds are whack. Years of smoking kills the taste buds and flavors can be muted or off. This will improve over time if you stay off of the smokes. Just something to know.

No no, i'm saying that this flavor makes me get queasy. I don't actually get sick or anything. All the suggestions and advice in here have been very helpful, and give me much to think about.

First, I need to find a vape shop near me and hope I can sample some flavors. I also need to give unflavored juice a try. I'm starting to think that tobacco flavors might not work for me if they are designed to be sweet tobacco instead of just, tobacco flavored.

I'm wondering if I will be better off going with fruity flavors, like I would if I were smoking a hookah. Maybe I should go with some citrus or berry type flavors, since I know I like those flavors when I smoke certain herbs that are naturally flavored that way.

All I know is that sweet is no good to me. Maybe I should even try menthol?

Anyone know of any good shops in the Tampa area?

That is a feeling I can understand. When I started I got the Houseblend e-juice from CopperCreek via a fellow vaper here. Reading the reviews I was eagerly waiting for this juice.. cake cookie cake cookie (thats what most reviews said).. I like both so I thought this was going to be it but man was I wrong. The first day I tried I got the same queasy feeling you described. It was too dam sweet. I thought maybe this is my first time and this is how it is supposed to feel and it will go away. But it did not happen. I still have it here and have not touched it since.

Then I got some tobacco flavors thinking I am not into sweet flavors and tobacco flavors are the ones. So I got around 6 10ml bottles to try. :glare: Not sweet but not great tasting as well. Not going to be my all day vape, that's for sure. I can vape these flavors but it would be only when I do not have a better flavor around.

But I had ordered a strawberry one along with the tobacco ones (which I felt I will not like) just so I could try it. Turns out I like it more than any of the flavors I tried before. Its been my all day vape since and I go back to the tobacco ones just so I can finish them.

So just try out some flavors not necessarily tobacco ones. I am sure you will be surprised with what you enjoy.

Ohh and my houseblend says hi. Feeling very lonely you see :vapor:

Dude try Ahlusion's aromatic line of naturally extracted tobaccos. Stuff like Devil Dog and Blue Grass Burley isn't sweet at ALL.

Taste is a weird thing. I also love coffee, but coffee juices make me want to hurl. There are thousands of different flavors out there from 100s of different juice suppliers. There will be some juices that will be unvapable to you. Don't give up hope. If its the nicotine that's making you sick, that can be fixed as well. It will just take some experimentation to figure it out. If you have to smoke a few cigarettes in the meantime, it's okay. Just don't give up on the ecig in the meantime.

Oh, and I agree with someone's suggestion to search out a shop with a tasting bar. That's really fun to do. You can just go down the line and taste everything they have. That will give you a better idea of what sorts of flavors you are going to gravitate towards.

Actually, yes, I've been puffing on that one, and you are right, it's not sweet... but that "cocoa" flavor is being translated by my taste buds as being "ashtray" flavored, lol. I admit, this one isn't nearly as offensive to my taste buds as the other one, but I'm still not thrilled by this one either. I was just looking at Halo's website again, and I saw that Torque56 flavor... I don't know why I didn't see that one the first time, but the description seems to fit my liking better than the other ones. I might have to give that one a shot.

I've done a lot of thinking about things since I originally created this thread. I started thinking about how I've been smoking Bugler RYO tobacco for so long now, and how nothing really matches that, even in analog terms, to me. I recalled how I haven't had a "machine-rolled" cigarette in over 8 years, and how in the beginning, when I switched to them from Marlboro lights, I found them so much smoother, and transparent, than the machine rolled ones ever were. I found myself unable to bum cigarettes off of anyone ever again, because my taste for regular cigarettes was gone. I was a rollie smoker.

So then it dawned on me that a lot of the "tobacco blends" are designed for cigarette smokers, like, normal cigarette smokers. Not rollie smokers. So, I think what I need to do is try out blends that are designed for a RYO tobacco palette. That, and I need to try a lower dose of nicotine, just to see if that affects me at all. I'm currently on 18mg, so I guess I'll try out 12mg of the Torque56.

I found a vape lounge in Tampa that I'm going to try visiting this weekend, to see if I can try any flavors. I think something tangy, or citrusy, might be a good option for me, too.

Okay so I have been puffing on the Prime 15 flavor a little bit today, and I can honestly say that the flavor is not offensive or overwhelming or anything... Yet, I still feel a little slight nausea. So, I'm guessing this means 18mg is too strong for me and I am experiencing a slight nic OD. So, I guess I am going to order some 12mg juice and give that a shot. Thank you to the people who have mentioned the possibility of it being too much nicotine. I didn't think that would be it, but it does kind of match the description I'm reading about.

I still think I need to find some non-sweet tobacco flavors, so I hope the Torque fits this bill...

just a suggestion :)
why don't you get 0nic liquid (of same flavor ofcourse ) and try mixing it with the 18mg juice just to cut down nic level..if you mix them 50/50 should get around 9mg nic or so..just so the 18mg juice doesn't go to waste

^ Thanks for the great suggestion, but it doesn't apply because I'm talking about cartomizers here. :) That being said, it only has inspired me to go purchase a mini-tank and start using liquid, instead of cartos. I think I am going to go ahead and order a liquid at 12mg and see how that goes.

I sure wish there was a way to dilute the juice that is already inside of pre-filled cartos!

I just wanted to update this thread, since It's been a few days...

I finally found a flavor that I actually like, in cartomizer form. It's the Torque 56, by Halo. It is very much like an actual cigarette to me. I just wanted to throw that out there in case anyone like me reads this in the future, and needs help finding a flavor that is very much like a real cigarette. One day I will experiment with other flavors, and expand my palette a bit... but for now, I just want to stop smoking analogs, and the way for me to do that is to replace them with a close approximation thereof.

I'm telling you... go with Torque 56!

I will certainly be buying this in liquid form as soon as I pick up some clearomizers.
