Just received my first Zen! Woot!

Just got it. So happy. Its such a beauty!

Gun Metal Altus.

Ive been drooling over the Z2 line so hardcore lately.. I REALLY, REALLY was so ready to buy the Gun Metal "Works" set, but I figured, why dont I see if I even like this thing first, before I drop 6 bills on a vaporizer. Plus, this way, I get to get the other finishes. Is it coincidence that he makes four colors, and four PVs? For me it aint lol!




So, heres how it goes everyone.

Ive never had a mech, never had a hybrid. Ive built coils on RDAs and Gennys for my Provari and other regulated PVs, but Ive no experience with the .8-1.3ohm area, which is where I plan to/assume I should be, shooting for on the Zen. I also wont be kicking the device, I really want to play in the low ohm area(but I have no desire to go super low. I dont ever see myself dipping below .8ohms)

Would you say that to start out, a 400x400 mesh wick and a 3-4wrap of 28gauge Kanthal would be a good place to start?


-With that said, make me a follower of the Zen. I have nothing to compare it too, so, Im a fresh slate.

-Are there any tips or tricks you think I should know right out of the gate?

-Any changes to the PV from stock form which are popular with the users?




Also, if anyone wants to add to the end of their post, what is the best way to find out when the new Zen stuff gets added to the ENS website? I missed out on getting a Carto Hybrid last week because I was late to the party, and there is some limited edition Sidewinders being released soon that I REALLY want to get. So, is there like a super secret Zen email list or something or do I need to be initiated into the Zen Clan before you spill your secrets?

Try 4/5 wraps on 400 mesh with less viscous juices and for this thick vg juices go with 325... I like 30 gauge due to its ease of use but 32. Works just fine. Watch all of zens videos on coil building and be patient... Almost forgot have fun an be safe!

I'm afraid the a 3/4 28ga wrap will only cause you problems. The Zenesis devices do have a current limiting spring in the switch and it is there as a safety feature. if you are dead set on 28ga, I would start with a 5 wrap coil and go from there.

Be careful with the glass also. Just received my first zen Altus on 2-24-14 and got off a 17hr work day and opened my package and started working on my first coil and in the process I took the glass off and when I went to put the glass back on it broke on me even with lubing it and the o-rings with juice.

So now I have to wait for a replacement glass till I can really enjoy the zen, but was able to set up a dripping like set up with the ss mesh and coil with cotton wrapped around it with just the top cap.

Also if you are thinking about getting the Kick 2 it works with a 18490 battery but there is a small gap when you tighten down the top or button bottom depending on what one you tighten down last.

I just ordered a 510 Zen Sidewinder in a limited edition color and I am so stoked! It will be my first mod and I can not wait for it to arrive I really could give a **** what it looks like
