I currently have a 24 guage dual macro coil reading at 0.4 ohms and while it produces good vapor, I want something more. This will be strictly for cloud chasing so I don't care about how hot it is or how much flavor it has. The mutation X has too much airflow for its own good so the build I currently have is a bit airy and does not produce the clouds that I need. Any suggestions? It can be as ridiculous as you want just as long as it blows the fattest clouds possible.

Parallel your 24g with a 5 wrap dual around a 3mm bit. .1 ohms

At 4.2v is a great cloud build. Center your coils and build higher just above the screws close to the air holes. Is my sweet spot. Make sure you drape your wicks and leave the space under your coil open.
You will increase your vapor production alot. And wick snug not to snug or you will choke your coil and won't wick well.

I won a cloud comp at my local B&M with that build. Against 22g+ parallels. Vape safe! (24g parallel dual coil. 2 strands side by side)

What are you powering it with? On a mech, lower will vaporize more juice faster, but if you're limited by regulated devices, you can try building low resistance, high surface area builds to achieve a similar result (with more ramp up time, obviously.)

I'm currently using a Sigelei 150 watt box mod.

Thanks for the info. Will have to try that out when I buy some 24 guage kanthal.

you might want to partially close off your airflow. sounds counter-productive, but in reality too much air actually decreases vapor production. you need to find the sweet spot. for example, my igo-M has 6 massive air holes which sounds great on paper. but in reality, using all 6 wide open creates too much airflow and decreases vapor production. i suspect the same is true for your mutation-x.

It's really all about coil positioning and how you wick it. The mX has a ton of airflow, but more air doesn't necessarily mean more clouds. I tend to close off 3 holes on each side, it makes the vape denser still with great airflow. On the inside I have my coils running sort of high, lining up with the middle and top rows of air holes. Make sure you clip your wicks and push them down into the juice well and NOT underneath your coils as that will hamper the airflow.
Since you're running on a sig150, go for what richboyporter recommended with the dual 24g parallels. That'll cover a lot of surface area and will heat up quicker than 22g.
Another thing to consider would be using nichrome80, it has a quicker ramp time compared to kanthal and lower resistance per gauge.

I agree, on a Sig 150, you can run a high .1's to low .2 ohm build safely at or near the max 150 watts and blow some pretty insane clouds.
I'd advise leaving the Gplat alone, but maybe consider nichrome 60 or 80. I would resist the urge to go to the super beefy wires like 20 and 22 gauge if I were you. Parallel 24 or tri-parallel 26/28 should give you a good ramp up time and plenty of surface area to make vapor.

I would do a clapton coil but I use claptons for everything essentially cause even at extremely low ohms with tons of airflow they retain excellent flavor. Try a two strand 24g core wrapped in a 28g outer wire with Nichrome 80. It will probably meter at around .1 something. Put it at 4.2v is my opinion on the Sig and open up the airflow all the way. You wont be at a true 4.2v cause math tells me thats more then 150w so I guess just max out the wattage and i can guarantee you will be extremely impressed with the clouds as well as the flavor this type of super sub-ohm build retains. Alternatively you could do a parallel build with twisted 24 g Nichrome 80 but I lost interested in anything except clapton coils a good long while ago. Most importantly what every you do try to build a coil with a large amount of surface area which is why I suggested the clapton.
I have a .1 dual clapton coil made out of kanthal in a Mutation X that I use on a very rare occasion. I actually threw it on my unregulated box today and according to ohms law with the two fully charged VTC4s I had in it I would have been around 175w but with voltage with that atty my box probably does 3.9v so around 156w. I had the Mutation open all the way and it had been a while since I used it, I had forgot about its powers. IMO its the best cloud chasing atty. Flavor was on point for how airy a draw that bad girl has.
