Short Back Story... 1.5 to 2 packs per day. Started smoking analogs at age 11 and smoked for 32 years. Wife quit 3 years ago cold turkey and pushed me hard on a daily basis to join her, problem was I enjoyed smoking. Couple of years ago seen some type of e-cig at Wal-Mart and decided to try. Nasty, couple of puffs later never tried again and knew nothing else about e-cigs. Fast forward to around 3 months ago... Was talking to a co-worker one day and noticed a device he had sitting beside him and began asking him questions. Bottom line he had quit smoking using it and to back his story another co-worker started telling me how his daughter had quit smoking using e-cigs after being a 30 year smoker. What caught my attention was I could smell a tobacco smell briefly when the co-worker used his device. He did offer to let me try it which I didn't (good thing...I tried it later after getting my own equipment and it was horrible). This was on a Thursday which was my normal buy a carton day. That night I told my wife about it and went online to find a brick and mortar close by and visited it the next day. I took my wife along to see if she could take the smell even though it was brief and didn't linger there was still one present. Bottom line after several hours and several hundred questions at a great vape shop went home an owner of a Vision Spinner starter kit and a 30ml bottle of a tobacco juice I liked.
It took about six weeks of dual use of analogs and the spinners to finish off that carton and have been smoke free for 5 weeks as of yesterday 7/3/2014. Along that short journey I've realized vaping is a different experience than smoking and decided to learn to enjoy it in and of itself and quit trying to replicate the analog experience. Started researching online and have come across this forum, pbusardo, etc... This brings us to today 7/4/2014... received my Provari in the mail yesterday (game changer...DEFINATELY worth the $$$ to anyone on the fence...pbusardo's review is unbiased and spot on from my thus far brief experience if someone needs more info) I had already ordered 3 Aspire Nautilus tanks (2 worked great and 1 extremely flooded...found solution last night and will be my 2nd newbie post) and have been DIY on the juice nearly from the beginning with a pre mix here and there from my preferred vendor.
