Just turned the news on and saw the news crawl that there is a ban on ecigs in NY until the Fed can figure out how to regulate them. Quoting that "children can get access to them I suppose by regulate they mean how they can tax them like cigs or make them totally ineffective. Not sure when this goes into effect nor do I have any details. Thank God the Gov is here to save the children from this terrible, terrible device.

How they can regulate and tax them is the REAL issue.

Money over lives, I don't know how they sleep at night. They make me sick - I am very frustrated today. If it weren't for the good news about the FDA failing, again, yesterday I'd be even more ...... off.

Go here and sound off. CBS wants to know if they are safe and if the politicians are going too far (you don't need to register): http://newyork.cbslocal.com/2011/01/25/ny-bill-would-ban-e-cigarettes-until-fda-action/

The children song is something they play to make it seem like they care an to gain support of the uninformed.

How they can regulate and tax them is the REAL issue.

as always, reading these news is just frustrating, politicians, conspiracies....

if they really are going to tax e-cigarette, i'd demand them to tax nic patch, nic gum, whatever nic delivery stuff there is out there!!

I think there are only two motivators for people who want to ban e cigs.

1) They're stupid, gullible, ignorant etc... Clear and simple. They have no idea what they're talking about and their opinion should be filed under "duuuurrr" the moment it leaves their mouths.

2) They're evil and greedy. Their motivation for trying to ban e cigs is to protect corporations whose profits could be harmed by a growing e cig industry. Politicians want to ban e-cigs because they're trying to protect tobacco companies that sell death sticks that kill 500,000 Americans every year, as well as pharmaceutical companies that sell nicotine cessation products and prescriptions that are amazingly expensive.

Pretty evil stuff.

Any stated purpose for banning e-cigs can be demonstrated as absurd, because the people who are trying to get them banned are certainly not trying to get cigarettes banned. The very logic they use to say e cigs are dangerous because kids might get them, could be applied to cigarettes.

I bet there are a lot of people that have a vested interest in both the tobacco industry and the nicotine cessation industry, they're profiting from getting people addicted to cigarettes, and then turn around and get profit from people who are trying to quit smoking cigarettes.
