Hey everybody! I just joined up after putting together my first rebuildable atomizer setup after vaping for almost a year using various cartomizer rigs. Looks like this:

svoemesto Kayfun 3.1 ES on a Stingray clone. Got the RBA and the mod from angelcigs.com (quick shipping and a well put together website in my experience). Seems to be working out quite well so far. The issue that I have had seems to be with my smok Omnitester that I got off eBay. I spent like 6 hours rolling coil after coil when I first got everything in trying to get lower than 4.6 ohms or so. Most of my builds were clocking in at over 8. The coil was still heating up properly (according to the bounty of youtube videos I watched on the subject), but I was worried that it was too cool to get a good feel for the Kayfun. Went to a semi-local shop this afternoon and his meter clocked my coil at just over 1 ohm, which is great cuz that means that I CAN hit a target after 6 hours of rolling 28 ga Kanthal. Came home and put it back on my meter and it reads over 4. So I suppose the short of it is I got a bad meter. Thing is though...it reads the resistance of my various cart setups just fine, and the battery side seems to function properly as well.

Anyway. Stoked to have a great e-cig build after all this time. I have a feeling that my last half pack of Lites isn't gonna get smoked. Glad to have found a community of knowledgeable users to exchange with!

There ya go

And welcome to the boards!! Congrats on getting a working set-up. Another way you can check is to just use an ohm meter or multi meter... just remember to touch your leads together to get your baseline resistance of the leads and subtract that out from your atty check. What you don't want is to just check the atty and find it is .3 ohms, but your leads internal resistance is .2 ohms... leaving you with a .1 ohm coil!!! That's gonna be a HOT vape, and potentially hard on the battery... I suggest Sony VTC5 batteries for your stingray... they are awesome for sub-ohm builds, and you aren't going to hurt them at all if your on the higher side of 1 ohm!
