hey guys pretty experienced vaper here Ive been using my kayfun clone for some time now and Ive never had this problem (rebuilt once a week maybe on average) but I just bought a stillaire and a nemmy and the coil burns after an hour or so. any tips? should I be dripping differently?
I dont have an accurate ohm meter but currently im using a 30a battery and I have a single parallel coil, 2 strands 28ga kanthal 1mm 6 wraps

if you pack it tight in the coil when you wick it won't let the cotton expand and fill the coil and let the juice wick through when you drip so the cotton will dry up quicker in the coil and start burning fairly quickly. Try wicking it a little looser just so it slides back and forth fairly easily inside the coil and then see if that helps and keep her nice and soaked up.

Just a rough estimate, but you're probably at around .4 ohms with that configuration. I would still make getting a meter my top priority for sure. That's a fairly long distance around a small hole for the juice to travel while being heated. Meaning you're probably not getting any juice to the middle of the coil before it gets vaporized. I would try making a bed of cotton under the coil and leaving the inside of the coil alone. Move your coil down slowly so it sets on top of the cotton and juice her up. Give that a try and see if you like it.

I agree with all the replies I've read thus far and i understand that you want to have full contact of wick to coil. The only problem with over wicking coils is when your running a really small diameter. As (ADDED) was saying that's a wide build with a small diameter so if the wick is too tight then most likely that parallel is cooking the juice before it can reach the center and thus that part of your cotton is burning. Chances are if you pull out the wick it will be black in the center. when building small diameter coils i usually like to either sit the coil on a cotton cloud or dragon coil to help prevent this. I hope this helps and VAPE ON!

every device I've messed with has had its own learning curve for me.. and wicking, is really the core issue with each device. coils are the easier part imho; wicking whatever coil I build is the challenge.

often, my issues have been too much wick inside the coil. sometimes, not enough. Im the kind of guy thats always in serach of the "one" way.. but even when I think I find it, the next time I rebuild and use the previous "one" way.. its different again! lol

I'm going to agree with too much cotton. When you unroll it, fluff it up a bit by pulling it apart...slightly. make a point out of one end and pull it through. One thing I was thought is to pull the cotton through with your non-dominate hand. This way you won't pull hard and if it tugs, then you can easily pull it back and remove some cotton at the point where it tugs. Plus you don't risk moving the coils around.

One thing is to make sure its completely saturated. I typically make sure to pay attention to the coil area. I drip until the juice stops dripping through the coils and then I work on the other areas. If you space your coils out then just make sure it looks really saturated. Once this is done, then you drip as necessary and you don't have to completely soak it again. But that all depends on how much you vape.

Wrapping it over 1mm is diameter is going to make feeding through the coil harder and not really too effective, 1mm should equal a nano coil, like someone else said you could put a bed of cotton under the coil. What I do when I build single or dual parallel nano coils I combine different builds into one. I take the nano dragon way of wicking into this build.

thanks guys i tried what added said and it worked for a while but then i got the same burn taste, but no black cotton. it might be just a bad liquid, is that possible?

i rolled a new coil and put a lot less wick in it and that fixed it, so long as i drip frequently.

That's the key with any new build. You need to get accustomed to when to drip again. Here is a hint: You should notice a flavor drop off right before you go dry. Keep your wick soaked and it should do fine bud xD. Once you get your pulls per drops down you're golden.
