I officially hate Fed Ex. Jerks. My starter kit won't even be here until tomorrow, because apparently, those nimrods held it for 2 days for pretty much no reason whatsoever. Gee, thank God I paid for upgraded shipping - should have just stuck with Priority Mail, for crying out loud!

Anyway, I have been on here, reading a LOT the last several days, and OMG, my brain is just about to shut down completely! The immense information is great, for sure, but I feel more confused and apprehensive now than I did when I ordered my Ultimate Starter kit from V2 cigs! So, the KR808D...if that is the model that I am getting in my kit...good or bad? Did I just waste my time and money? Or not? And what if I do decide that I might want to fill my own cartridges in the future...how does that work? Because from what I can see, the V2 model I have uses cartomizers, so can empty cartomizers be purchased to be filled? And if I don't choose to fill my own, then where is the best place to get prefilled cartomizers with a large variety of flavors for the best price? And will they fit my V2 cig?

I know, I am a pain...lol! But I am now officially confused, and even more frazzled now that my starter kit is taking even longer to get here! Thanks in advance!! :)

Relax. The waiting is the hardest part. And once it gets here, you'll forget about all the hassles. (Or you'll have a NEW set of hassles. lol) From what I hear, the KR808 is a good model.....and you can refill the cartomizers. You'll need some juice. Maybe start shopping around for juice...it'll make the time go faster.

I haven't heard of V2 (which doesn't mean anything).
808 cartomizers (cartos) can indeed be refilled, and blank (empty) ones can be bought and filled.
Many vendors sell 808 cartos. I've used vapor4life (V4L) and NHaler, with good results, and there are many other good suppliers (see the Forum Suppliers link this Web page, just below the banner area).

If it's a KR808D-1 (an 808) battery, any 808 carto should fit it fine, and liquid (stuff in a bottle) can be used in any of the cartos. I've bought NHaler and V4L pre-filled cartos, v4l juice in the bottle, juice from TastyVapor, etc.

The 808 is a great one. I use nothing but cartos and the one I'm currently using I have refilled at least 25 times. I don't think it will ever die. I get the premium cartos from V4L and have found them to be the easiest to use and best ones out there. Welcome to ECF and the info overload will go away. By the way with an adapter you can use 510 cartos too. Everyone has their own preference so just jump in the waters fine.

I'm not familiar with that PV but I know there are a lot of users very happy with them. I can tell you that YES you can purchase cartomizers and fill them yourself with your favorite juices. You can also direct drip on the atomizer which is what I do when I'm not using my Wetbox. Direct dripping is fairly easy and you get the true flavors of the juice.
Silly Fed Ex...hope your PV comes soon and that it is all that you expected and more. :)

Yep, there's really no point in "upgraded shipping".
It usually doesn't actually get there any faster, maybe 1 day faster. tops.
Unless you're talking about Overnight..But that's just rediculousely expensive.

So as long as you're not waiting till you need it before you order, shipping time doesn't really matter.

Always keep enough stock for at least 2 weeks of vaping.
Once you're down to 2 weeks of stuff, that's when you should order.

And as others have said, I've heard nothing bad about the KR808D-1.

The 510 and the KR808 are the Chevy and Ford of Ecigs.
Can't go wrong with either one.

I've always shied away from "upgraded shipping" offers on web sites. To me, they are nothing but a way to generate a little more income. I'll use the example of NewEgg. You can choose that option then read all the disclaimers that go with it.
I've done quite a bit of shipping with my little e-business and have given up on both UPS and FedEx due to cost and transit time. I know many complain about USPS, but for my money, they offer the best bang for the buck. I can send a package via Priority Mail across FL and it will get there in one day. Same as Express except much less money. Packages going to CA from FL usually take only 3 days generally and with UPS it's at least a week.
My one gripe with USPS is the flat rate "scam" they offer now. Look at the size of the boxes and then consider what you can jam in those very "large" boxes they send you. If you are sending iron ore, maybe it's a good deal, but otherwise no. Good old Priority is the way to go in my book.

Welcome esjam! Where in PA are you? Which supplier did you order from? I have kr808d-1 (vapor4life) - yes you can refill the cartomizers - many times. Easy to use, easy to take along. Re-filling isn't hard at all. You just have to find the juice and nic level that works for you - but that's with any pv.

my first kit was a kr808, cartos were easy to refill, then I got a joye 510, shorter bat life but even easier to refill. Then I found an adapter to run the kr808 bat with the 510 atty and wow! the best of both worlds.
this morning I picked up a ego bat and lr atty and all I can say is WOW! vaping for 3 hours and still going strong.
these e-cig gadgets are getting addictive!

You didn't say whether you ordered the manual or auto batts. In my opinion, the manual batts perform much better. I also think the batts they sell at V4L are superior to some of the other KR808D1 batts out there. I'm only basing that on the difference in batts I noticed between one other vendor and V4L, though, so it's a pretty limited perspective.

I definitely like the V4L cartos, as well. I prefer the premiums on the KR8 and the cool carts at higher voltages. Whatever kind you go with, just make sure you get ones with a soft cap on the mouthpiece end, so that you can take it off and drip some juice in it every now and then. The key to making a carto last is to keep it moist, so it doesn't dry out and burn up.

I completely understand your frustration with the wait- especially since you paid extra for upgraded shipping. Don't sweat it, though, you'll be vaping in no time! :vapor:

From what I've been told at the PO, FedEx has the contract for overnight guaranteed mail. Then they hand it back off the the USPS at the destination. Reason I remember is all of the paperwork I had to fill out to send an order to Brazil..... must have been 20 pages of gobbletygook.

I used to dispatch for a trucking company that had the contract for domestic mail. That all moves by contract truckers. Boy was that a fun job.... on call 24/7... ever try to find a truck driver at 3 AM in the morning? Not easy..... they knew the tricks.... all they had to say was "I just had a beer" and on to the next driver on the list.....lol.

What disgusted me were the sorting centers for USPS. What a mess. That's why I never send anything in envelopes. They were all over the floor. At least a box is harder to loose....lol. I've also noticed that if I put insurance on a package it seems to get to the destination faster..... go figure.... I never could understand that one.

Thanks for all of the input, everyone! I really do appreciate it! :) And SaigesPoppa - I am actually glad to know that you ordered from V2, as well! I looked around at others ( Greensmoke, Blu ) and after talking with a V2 rep and looking into it all a little more, I felt most at ease with dealing with them. Plus, they gave me a 25 percent off code, too, so that made it alot easier to go after the Ultimate Starter kit, assuming that this all works out and I become an ex-smoker! :) Are you happy with everything that you got from them? How are their prefilled cartos? And the video you posted totally just gave me the confidence to likely try to fill my own cartos in the future! I would love to hear flavor recommendations, seeing as how I am still so new to the hopefully wonderful world of vaping!! I am on pins and needles waiting for my Fed Ex delivery to come tomorrow! Watch - they won't even show up until the evening, at the rate that they have been going! LOL!

You know what, I was truly impressed with Priority Mail. I ordered eGo starter kit from Dragonfly on Friday, and they didnt have a FedEx option. I thought it would take like a week because it had to go from Texas to PA. Then I checked the tracking this morning, and apparently it left Texas on Saturday, got to Philadelphia Sunday (what they work on weekends??), got to my local post office this morning and got to my house this afternoon. Mind = Blown :toast:

I have the "extra-long" from v2 cigs... they keep changing the names of their batteries...I think they call it the "long-cig" now... I have 2 with the manual switch... I like these better than the shorter ones because the battery charge lasts forever... sometimes I get like 2 days before I have to plug it in.... and yes manual batteries rock when compared with automatic ones... also fyi for all you drippers... V2 doesn't have them on the web-site, but if you call them they will sell you blank cartridges for cheaper than the filled ones... this is what I do :)... then I buy the sweet caroline ejuice from ivape and drip into a V2 blank... of course sometimes I'm too lazy to drip and I just buy V4L or V2 carts pre-filled... so many ways to vape :)
