Hi people, just got my v2 starter kit today and am looking for advice from other v2 users.
Can somebody please help me with,
what other companies cartomizers are v2 batteries compatible with?
what kind of battery life are people getting from the standard size?
how easy is it to use empty cartomizers and ejuice with these batteries? will i need extra kit to do so?

thanks, Ben

Hey Ben. I started with a V2 kit also. A lot of folks here knock it, and their batteries are expensive, but overall I think it is a great kit. They use the 808 (KR808D1) batteries and cartomizers, so any other 808 gear will be compatible. A lot of people like the V4L (Vapor 4 Life) cartomizers, which are also 808, but I am not personally a fan. The Bloog, Smokeless Image (Volt), and Halo gear is also 808-based, so your V2 gear is compatible with their stuff too. You can also get excellent 808 blank cartomizers by Boge (Liberty Flights is a good vendor for these) and SmokTek.

Tastes vary. One man's trash is another man's treasure. The only way to find what YOU like is going to be some experimenting. I have tried all the above, and my favorite 808 cartomizers are, in order of my preference: Boge, V2, SmokTek, Bloog/Volt, and lastly V4L. Again though, you have to experiment to see what you like best.

All of these cartomizers I ordered blank/empty and filled with good juice that I like. That is a whole other conversation to explore. :) I have gone through dozens of juice samples and my personal favorites are from Copper Creek, Alien Visions, and Vermillion River. Yet again, you are going to have to sample and experiment to find your taste preferences.

As for battery life, the "standard" (78mm) V2 batteries are ~280 mah. This is about 2.5 - 3 hours of usage, depending on how heavy of a vaper you are. For higher capacity batteries there are - you guessed it - a bunch of options in the 808 family. Echo, iGo, vGO, and Elite are all 808. SmokTek sells an 808-threadded eGo. After trying all kinds of different batteries, my personal preference is the Go-Go (from Discount Vapers) with an 808 adapter. One battery charge easily lasts all day, if not two. I still sometimes use my standard (like you have) V2 and Bloog batteries, but 90% of my vaping is now on my Go-Go batteries with either the Go-Go cartomizers or 808 cartomizers. My most satisfying vape is a Go-Go battery, Boge LR 808 cartomizer, and Copper Creek's House Blend juice. As usual though, you have to experiment to see what you like best.

In short, the V2 is a good kit. I like mine very much. Yeah, their batteries are expensive, but they got me off cigarettes - and that is priceless! I will buy more V2 blank cartomizers, but I would not buy more V2 batteries.

Welcome to vaping! I am relatively new too (about three months) and experimenting is part of the experience!

I started out with V2. The kit was good, I had no complaints about the hardware. The problem was the service. They took forever to ship my orders out. I wound up, several times, paying for 2-day shipping to get my cartos in 5 days. I would call their customer service and they would tell me what I ordered was in stock, and would ship the next day. And when I would call the next day, they would tell me it was out of stock.

I got tired of that and started buying from Vapor4life.com. Never had a problem with their service.

V2 may have improved since then, but myself and several of my friends will never buy from them again (my friends had the same problems).

V4L's batteries and carto's are compatible (unless things have changed in the last 6 months) with V2's.

And refilling a carto is super easy. I used a travel dental pic. U just pop that little white plastic bit off the end and drip juice onto the white filling. There are video's around here to show you how.

Just my :2c:. Good luck!

Thanks jd. The tip for liberty flights was a great one. Ive just had a quick look round and that looks like a great vendor, I'll be getting a couple of bits from there once I've got through the carts I got with my kit.
There's so much choice in all of this it's a little daunting, so it's good to get a little advice. I'm pretty pleased with the v2 kit so far, for me it's much better than tobacco, and today was the first cigarette free day I've had in 10 years!

Thanks, I'd noticed on some review sites that a few people had this kind of problem, but they definitely seem to have sorted these out now. I had a one day turnaround on ordering from the UK website. I think i'm going to try refillable carts and other flavours though, I'll have a search for the videos.

I did not even notice that you are in the UK. In that case, Liberty Flights is an even better choice for you! I just posted thread titled "Accidentally Quit Smoking" in the new members forum. I know what you mean about the first smoke-free day - it is awesome! I have not had a single cigarette since my first vape. I am thrilled!

Yeah, the selections can be daunting. Some stuff is better than others, that is for sure! You did good with the V2 kit though. So what, you spent a little bit too much, but that is insignificant compared to the fact that you had a cigarette-free day. The first of many!

Good, I'm glad they got on track. The quality of the equipment and the "one stop shop" made getting started easy.

FYI, prefilled carto's are refillable. Just remember to refill with a flavor that is similar or compatible with the flavor it came loaded with. For example, refill a chocolate with chocolate or Snikerz. Or, coffee, peanut butter, or anything else you think goes well with chocolate, because it will always have a remnant of that taste (some people clean them or replace the batting, but I never bothered with that).

A good place to buy e-juice IMHO, is freedomsmokeusa.com. You can click the word fireball in my signature to go right there.

V2 was my first e-cig. they misrepresented the product, they didn't honor their waranty, and they overchared by 100%. But at least they did get me to this forum. If you are a noob, buy an EGO, RIVA, Bloog, go to V4L. But don't spend your money with these carpetbaggers.

I would point out that V4L is also "one-stop" convenient, which I think is important for beginners. Think of it as training. :D
Hang out much around here and you will find a setup that will work better for you in the long run. But for now, at least it's not an analog! :)
